80% CHANCE OF RAIN! What will the weather really be like?

So I will be in Cozumel Tuesday and its showing 80% chance t-storm and rain. I am worried, that we will actually run into bad weather... Anyone else expirience this?

Thunderstorms typically occur in the afternoon near sunset and last about 10-15 minutes.

 

If the weather is very bad your ship will likely skip the port visit. :(

This is the rainy season, from June - Oct, and it typically rains every day. It could be 30 minutes or could be 3 hours, but it is rarely all day long.

Unless there is a tropical storm in the area, hurricane season has no bearing on the weather.

 

But it is also the rainy season. Luckily-Cozumel tends to get rain every day, but for short periods. (Though a few days we were there last december those short periods were 6 hours every evening. Every morning but 1 was beautiful.)

We had 90% chance of rain and it rained a little bit in the morning, but the rest of the day was great :)

Coming from Seattle, I can always be ready for rain although it's not what I had expected for our cruise next week on the Jewel. Any recommendations for how to dress for the tropical rain? Layers? We are going to Tulum on this stop. I was planning to wear sandals that can trek through water. Any other recommendations? Thanks!
