KPfromCT Posted October 19, 2014 #1 Share Posted October 19, 2014 Just curious as to your thoughts.... Is Carnival offering refunds for people that are not comfortable getting on the ship? Did you cancel? Are you excited and ready to go?

jacksmycat Posted October 19, 2014 #3 Share Posted October 19, 2014 You should go. Today is 21 days since the lady had potential contact with the Ebola patient. She has no symptoms so she didn't catch it. I'm sure carnival will do a thorough decontamination of the ship as well. Like they do after an outbreak of norovirus. Enjoy your trip. Fun, Fun 44 Posted October 19, 2014 #4 Share Posted October 19, 2014 Got friends in Galveston tonight to jump on in the morning. They are ready to go! Only their 2nd cruise in 15 years and they are fine with everything. Enjoy all! Kat
TubT Posted October 19, 2014 #5 Share Posted October 19, 2014 A really savvy cruiser would be in Galveston, ready to sail, because there will almost certainly be some who cancel for this reason.
jkneern Posted October 19, 2014 #6 Share Posted October 19, 2014 Ship is scheduled to be sanitized after all passengers disembark tomorrow. Check in is between 1-3p and sail away at 4p. Got the info off the roll call.

Can you still do this? I thought it wasn't possible to go like that anymore?
asalligo Posted October 19, 2014 #9 Share Posted October 19, 2014 There is very little I love more than cruising, but I still would not be on that boat tomorrow.
Ladysilver Posted October 19, 2014 #10 Share Posted October 19, 2014 Just think.....Everyone will be wondering if THEY are in the SAME CABIN as the EBOLA couple. Sorry......Couldn't resist!
Mom2sml Posted October 19, 2014 #11 Share Posted October 19, 2014 I'm not on that cruise but if I was, I would go. I would even be fine staying in the same room.
RaiderCruiser Posted October 19, 2014 #12 Share Posted October 19, 2014 We are on the cruise today! Will be leaving shortly for Galveston and then, hopefully, a week of R&R. I'll post after we get aboard to discuss the timing and how much, if any, of a circus this is made into. It's certainly been a circus on these boards. RuthlessBoss Posted October 19, 2014 #14 Share Posted October 19, 2014 Does anyone know if Carnival is offering refunds to passengers who don't want to board? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk That's a real gray area isn't it? It's likely the blood was negative or she wouldn't have been allowed off the ship in street clothes, thus no Ebola. Then, Carnival might recognize some people's fear.
nascarcruiser Posted October 19, 2014 #15 Share Posted October 19, 2014 According to Fox the "patient" has disembarked and gone home with NO symptoms.
RuthlessBoss Posted October 19, 2014 #16 Share Posted October 19, 2014 The reporter from CNN was just on. Didn't know the passenger was already off the ship. I don't know if it was an on the spot report or if it was prerecorded.
debshomespun Posted October 19, 2014 #17 Share Posted October 19, 2014 Why should people get a refund from Carnival if they decide to not go? The lab technician was totally cleared and has been 21 days. I would be there going if I was scheduled on the ship today. The media has turned this into a circus frenzy like with most things. Remember SARS, same thing happened!!

It's a Ship!!! Posted October 19, 2014 #22 Share Posted October 19, 2014 I'm not on this sailing, but I will be on her next week with no fears. I wouldn't even mind being in the same cabin she was in. I wish I was on the one that just got back. You get to go on an awesome cruise, get $200 credit, AND 50% on your next cruise? Just because they missed Cozumel which I have been to many times.....sign me up
