beshears Posted October 20, 2014 #1 Share Posted October 20, 2014 As most of you know, Carnival was in the news because of the Ebola scare. We are to do Carnival within the next two weeks. If you are doing Carnival within the next few weeks, would you cancel your trip because of the Ebola viris?
Orison Posted October 20, 2014 #2 Share Posted October 20, 2014 I would only cancel once I heard there was a case actually on a specific ship. And I hope there are guidelines where they have to report that one case, as opposed to the rule similar to noro where it's a certain percentage. CanadianDee Posted October 20, 2014 #5 Share Posted October 20, 2014 (edited) Nope. The cabin - the one that housed the health care worker who DID NOT have Ebola - is probably the cleanest cabin in the fleet right now. In any fleet. They are more under the microscope because of what happened.
kelly11 Posted October 20, 2014 #7 Share Posted October 20, 2014 No way, but I have to admit that if I get some price drops thanks to those who are cancelling or not booking it wouldnt break my heart :D
luv2trvlnow Posted October 20, 2014 #8 Share Posted October 20, 2014 I cruise in less than 2 weeks and I am not cancelling. I usually don't fly to the port, but this time I am. Still not cancelling. I am so looking forward to having a good time on this cruise. Sharon

bonnie&clydecruzers Posted October 20, 2014 #10 Share Posted October 20, 2014 NOPE . if ebola was on the ship, I would just stay in my stateroom and order room service. ;)

cruisinpips Posted October 20, 2014 #13 Share Posted October 20, 2014 No way I would cancel... Typical chicken little mentality.:eek: Ebola is real and deadly, but if we allow a few idiots in the media to control our lives, we will never leave home. Media hype is why we are in the shape we're in, most know what I mean!:eek:
travler27 Posted October 20, 2014 #14 Share Posted October 20, 2014 Why would anybody cancel a cruise over something that didn't happen? And even if it had happened it was thru no fault of the cruise line. Good grief. Will the silliness never stop?

riffatsea Posted October 20, 2014 #16 Share Posted October 20, 2014 NOone with Ebola was on the ship so why in the world would anyone cancel a cruise?? This is just getting silly!
celticd1 Posted October 20, 2014 #17 Share Posted October 20, 2014 Nope. I'd even stay in the same cabin that the person was quarantined in. Go on your cruise...and keep the news turned off until you leave. ;)
TEXASMUNK Posted October 20, 2014 #18 Share Posted October 20, 2014 People get killed driving to the airport. People have died in plan carshes. Trains have wrecked. Buses have been in collisions. Should I cancel my cruise because I might get hurt getting there?
Jimmy Geegitz Posted October 20, 2014 #19 Share Posted October 20, 2014 I wouldn't cancel even if everyone on the ship had Ebola.

If you are doing Carnival within the next few weeks, would you cancel your trip because of the Ebola viris? I am going on the Glory on the 15th. I am taking the train there from San Francisco. I did alter my path to avoid Dallas. But as long as my ship doesn't have it I wouldn't cancel. grandmacani Posted October 20, 2014 #22 Share Posted October 20, 2014 Flying out in 4 days. Not worried. I'm going and having fun. I probably would be more likely to encounter a hurricane than Ebola.

DH and I have agreed that if we are catching Ebola, what better place to catch it than on a cruise. Seriously though, we sail in 19 days - I'm more nervous about catching a cold from a fellow airline passenger than anything on the ship.
