thanks for the reviews so far, I am enjoying them.

I am somewhat confused in regards to the the pre-tipping, is this the prepaid gratuities that is considered tacky?

We always pre-pay the gratuities as we like select dining rather than traditional seating, we also tip our steward (and selected other staff that have provided great service) at the end of the cruise on top of this. I would imagine the Butler would be treated similarly.:)

I would hate to think that by choosing select we are seen as tacky.

No, the conversation is about additional tipping over and above the pre-paid gratuities and in particular in respect to the butler.

Enjoying the (pre) review! We're in a Sky Suite in three weeks, quite close to your RS. I'd be interested to know if the Butler/Stewards will be the same, and will service the Sky Suites at the aft part of the ship.

On the M-class ships, the Head Butler services one side of the ship and another butler the other in the area where the PH and RS are. There are occasional exceptions such as when we swapped between PH for the two legs of a B2B and the Head Butler swapped PH with us. The fact it resulted in both our butler and us walking into walls [where a door would have been in the other PH] for most of the second cruise shows how rarely they swap sides!

I just checked the OP's profile and he hasn't posted anything on Cruise Critic since his last post here on October 27th, 2014! I hope they didn't fall overboard!! I was enjoying reading this and wish he'd come back and tell us how it went.

Apologies for going off topic, but I no longer seem to be able to find all the posts for an individual. Has Cruise Critic changed how it is done?

There is an advanced search engine up at the top of the page by the Quick Links button on the rightish side of the page that will take you to another page where you can put in the Cruise Critic name of the person whose posts you are searching for. Or if you are reading something a poster has posted you just click on the poster's cruise critic name in the upper left hand corner of their post and a small window opens up and you click all posts by X or all threads by X person.

Thanks. I used to be able to click on the user name as you suggest but that does not work for me now. I guess that it is my newish tablet rather than Cruise Critic changing, then. I can search as you suggest but clicking on the name was a better way of doing it.

Sorry all for not posting anything since the cruise. In short it was ABSOLUTELY worth every penny, Amazing service, Fantastic room with wood balcony, our butler was so perfect - unobtrusive yet constant magical service, I think he is a ninja, our room steward was very friendly and even left us a mythical towel animal and chocolates one evening!, Michaels Club was a clear highlight of the trip and we will go back to a Royal Suite just for it, the concierge there made us feel ever so welcome and we kept getting all kinds of fun and unexpectedly delightful invites from dining at the Captian's Table one evening to a tour of the bridge... in short it was a must do for every cruiser if only once.

We loved it so much we are planning on coming back next year for another Caribbean cruise in 2016. On the cruise we had so much fun and were so relaxed, while doing a ton of things at the same time, that we just enjoyed the moment rather than all the posting we thought we would do. And with Thanksgiving to Christmas to our annual New Year's Eve party we've just now had a time to catch our breath and head out to Disney World (our usual annual trip in January).

Never fear, we've kept all the daily newsletters, invites, fun tidbits and took pictures. We hope to post a more indepth review some time this spring. Everyone at CC has been so lovely welcoming us both before and on the Cruise - the cabin crawl, slot pull, dinner with some lovely new friends and halloween party in our room that our butler fantastically catered were great standouts. We'll be sure to post more including scans & uploads of everything.

The casino, the drinks, the ports... ahhh I can't wait to go back again!! In short the Royal Suite is a memorable and totally immersive luxury experience that leaves you with the fondest of memories. You feel special, pampered, and courteously appreciated. We went out of our way to compliment the staff who were making our trip wonderful while on the cruise and it seemed to only make every day better - from daily similes to having everyone know what we looked like day one and say "Good Evening Mr. & Mrs. Inkpen" in the hall - it was a fairy tale vacation.

Cheers all!

So pleased you had a great cruise - that was the important thing; not posting from the ship or being under pressure to get back here post cruise.

We have two Caribbean cruises booked in 2016. You never know, you may actually book one of those and we would get the opportunity to meet.
