We dropped our bags in our deluxe balcony cabin (My first balcony ever) and headed to the MDR for lunch, meeting up with some old Cruise Critic friends. When we approached the door at about 12:40 we were told it would be 1:00 before we could be seated.I. What?! After waiting about 15 minutes we were finally seated. The dining room was PACKED. I had NEVER seen that many people in the dining room for lunch before.

Maybe many of those people in the dining room were B2B people from the TA segment.

Day 2: We woke up to another beautiful day. It is already noticeably warmer. Room service (should be called cabin service) brought coffee and it wasn't bad. Cathy went off for a bamboo deep tissue massage and said it was the best massage she ever had. The Enclave was $199 for the 10 days and they still had a few spots available today. I went to our Cruise Critic M&G. I think we may have had around 200 people attending. Strange that they assigns us the Allegro dining room in the rear of the ship with no nearby bar or bar service. Several members of the staff attended but Captain Tony we were told was having makeup applied for an appearance on a TV show. After lunch in the MDR again we purchased wine cards and coffee cards and retired to the balcony to sit in the warm sun.

The rest of the day consisted of a predinner snack at the Ocean Terrace seafood bar (crab cocktail and sashimi), a stop in the casino to lose some money, then a late dinner in the MDR. When we returned to our cabin we found our invitations to the Winemaker's dinner. Yea! Several other CC members received theirs too. It will be on Oct 31, Halloween, the sea day after Aruba.

If the theaters are in use (and neither of them has a bar), its the only venue that can hold that many that isn't already prepped for lunch or or dinner I guess.

Carolyn,

Thank you for the Live posts. I love the coffee from room service or "Cabin" service as you mentioned. It is one of the things I always look forward too on our cruises. Just love sitting out on the balcony, drinking my coffee and savoring the start of the day.

Enjoy your cruise and your first balcony.

You will love the one makers dinner. Post who your head waiter was for the event please. I have never heard of a wine card. Spent over a month on the Royal this spring and we didn't have that. Can you explain?

Thanks for doing a LIVE. We are on the Royal in less than a month! Can you try to find out if Sam will still be on the ship? She is terrific! Karen

Sam is the best host. We had her for Aprils, May and part of June. Her husband was working on the ship as well. I hope you get to have her next month. [emoji4]

Pia, The ACD is Tory. I will say hi to Sam from you. Say hi to Mike from me. Cathy and I are doing the Winemaker's dinner with Frank and Helena.

Day 3: We did nothing special today. We had a small breakfast in the buffet and lunch again in the MDR. We had an outstanding dessert with a rolled sponge cake with mascarpone cheese and blueberry puree. It seems we have been mostly eating, drinking and enjoying our balcony. The weather has been outstanding. I haven't even had the desire to fight for a lounge chair up on the pool decks. We have been enjoying spectacular sunsets off our balcony every night.

Cathy had a facial today. She said it was OK but nothing special. She had her usual makeup on when she went to her appointment and when she came back I said "Did she reapply your makeup?" No said Cathy. Aren't they supposed to cleanse your skin of all makeup when giving you a facial? Her eyeliner was never touched during the treatment.

I started reading an ebook today where the scene is set in the middle of the Pacific on a mega cruise ship and a deadly asteroid hits the earth. Stay tuned.

Tonight was formal night and we went to the Crown Grill. Every single thing we had was outstanding. I think we will be back again this cruise. A wine that I like was out of stock last night in the MDR but by chance a few bottles were found in the Crown Grill so I put them on my wine package and did a carry out. We still have two bottles of wine saved in various dining rooms from lunch and dinner.

Sam just returned from vacation this month spoken she will be on board for a while.

A shout out to my best buddies now on the Regal TA. I hope you are having a great voyage. I know you are missing me!

Unless they changed, it's Toby (not Tory)

Are they doing the Dangerous Hour on your itinerary? That was a new one on it and Toby plays the lead, he was quite funny.

Then again, you probably have seen it already...

For those that are interested, I looked the book up on Amazon. Kindle price is .99 for 15 more hours (it is now 11:22am EST) and then the price goes up. For .99 I was game and ordered. Get's fairly good reviews.

Yeah, well, I think it was the fact that the book was going to go up to $2.99 today. Put a little pressure on me and made me want to buy it. :D

Now, will I actually read it??? Probably save it for a cruise.

Carolyn - Don't give anything away. ;)

Not even worth .99 cents. I read the first five sentences and simply couldn't go on. Grammar errors and plodding prose, with a little Celebrity marketing thrown in for good measure (a concierge-class balcony for only $1200!). Life is too short to read bad writing. Too bad, because the plot sounded so promising, like one of those craptacular airplane disaster movies I love.

Carolyn, really enjoying your Live. Very glad you're having such nice weather.

Day 4: Room service breakfast on the balcony this morning. The breakfast sandwich now comes in a foil packet to keep it warm. I wrote in an omelet and berries and they both arrived.

I had a cronut in the IC today. Delicious!

For three sea days in a row they have had the Pub lunch. We went today. The bangers and mash were good. I especially enjoyed the onion gravy and the mash. The bread and butter pudding was very good too.

As you can see our days have been occupied with eating, drinking wine, and sitting on the balcony, sometimes all three at once! After a light meal at Alfredo's I am back in our cabin for the night. Cathy is goiing rogue and going down to the Vista Lounge for the Latin Dance party.

Tomorrow we have our first port, St. Thomas. I have been here many times before and since we are docking at Havensight I think I might go to Secret Harbor. I usually go to Water Island but that is more convenient when we dock at Crown Bay. Cathy is doing the Princess excursion where you ride a scooter under water. Hahaha! I will let you know how that goes.

I wanted to mention that I thought the food on our Royal TA last year was very good, a step above my other Princess cruises in my opinion. This cruise has even surpassed that one. The executive chef is Jozef Lisner from the Netherlands. As usual, the crew is exceptional, always smiling and friendly.
