Another old sugar mill: Antigua had recently celebrated the 33rd anniversary of their independence. We saw many displays of their national colors in these kinds of casual settings. Merion_Mom Posted November 8, 2014 Author #311 Share Posted November 8, 2014 I was exhausted after the long day in Antigua, and fell asleep in my cabin. I missed dinner and caught some Harira soup in the WJ, along with a little sushi. I also missed the show. I had seen this a few months ago, and the reports today were good. Etta Mae. These early mornings and long days are taking their toll. I am off to bed without reporting to you about my day in St.Lucia today. I'll do that tomorrow, when I am exhausted from all day in Barbados. :D The show tonight was good: the headliner was scheduled to be Zoe Tyler, but she was sick. She soldiered on through part of a performance, but the ship had arranged for one of the RCCL singers to perform. Her name is Robin Miles and she was fabulous. A real headliner herself. I will leave you with one photograph from St. Lucia, to haunt your dreams. Good night.

Coralc Posted November 8, 2014 #313 Share Posted November 8, 2014 (edited) What is that snake eating? Is it a baby rabbit? :D:eek::rolleyes: You would think that feeding should be done at home. Or is it something on his shirt? Interesting photo. Edited November 8, 2014 by Coralc
The Big Booper Posted November 8, 2014 #314 Share Posted November 8, 2014 (edited) Zoe and Robin both had powerhouse voices. Zoe went full speed on three numbers before giving way to Robin. Saw the couple several times the last two days, always look like they are on their way to a top-tier English garden party and loved being photographed. I got to set up a web sharing service to do my own thread, just using the Fb Explorer thread now. St Lucia is one gorgeous island, we haven't been here in almost 10 years. OHlady Posted November 9, 2014 #320 Share Posted November 9, 2014 I was always confused about what the dockyard was. But now with your pic & text and the official info I think I have a better understanding and will put it on my "to see" list. Thanks Merion Mom. Merion_Mom Posted November 9, 2014 Author #322 Share Posted November 9, 2014 (edited) Bridgetown, Barbados port with shuttle buses: (Captain Rick parked us on the far side. We took the bus TO the terminal in the morning; I walked back in the afternoon. It's not like Cape Liberty where you have no choice) I thought that the pilot boats, tied up to the pier, were interesting: Edited November 9, 2014 by Merion_Mom

Merion_Mom Posted November 9, 2014 Author #324 Share Posted November 9, 2014 Uh oh. Now I am out of sequence. Back to St. Lucia. Yesterday. Friday. St. Lucia is famous for its Pitons, the twin peaks. Our guide said that some call them Dolly Partons. ;)
Merion_Mom Posted November 9, 2014 Author #325 Share Posted November 9, 2014 I went with James Tours. They were fine. There were places that I thought that we would go/see, according to their description, that we didn't go/see, but it was still a good day. My van was driven by James himself. Our guide was Elisha, pronounced Elijah. (Huh? That's what I said) It has to be two different people - the roads are narrow, winding and dangerous. Concentration is key. James is a major Pittsburgh fan. His daughter lives there. ;)
