Ok. Im booking a cruise through a travel agent so i put down i wanted an interior room. So ive been reading the forum q&a's. And been on carnival website quite frequently. So i saw that there are interior rooms with picture window and porthole views thats included in the same price that my basic interior room is. I asked her about that and she tells me that's considered ocean view and like $130more.

No, you have to know the exact cabin number. It also depends on the ship. You should ask this question on the Carnival board (cruise lines A-O) and you can find out which cabins to look for. If you book a garuntee cabin (cheaper and the cruise line will pick your cabin for you, that might be where the extra $130 comes into play as you will be selecting your cabin).

Just a word of warning. Some of those cabins are right forward in the ship and may experience more motion there. Also they are near the anchor outlets, so if you are tendering at any port you'll hear the chains dropping in the early morning hours.

Hey sauer kraut! Loved meeting you on the breeze!

port holes - I JUST spent 4 weeks in a row in em. Sept 28 to Nov1st. 4 of the 5 weeks were in a port hole room. I love them.

They were considered a 1A on conquest, breeze and glory. Thought they were on all the carnival ships. Paul - taught me something new. Will def be checking before I cruise solo again.

Anyway - carnival told me that my cabin wasn't a port hole and I had researched it knew that it was. So the carnival 800 number people don't always know.

They do have a lot of motion and are noisy. The crew slamming doors bothered me more than the anchor and tenders though. I really enjoyed having a port hole but the walking got to me some times.

Seems like everything I do is on the other end of the ship = makes some long walks. Casino, Comedy shows, pool, movies, buffet and dinning room.

I went on the Carnival website and look at the June 15 date leaving from Galveston and it shows as if a porthole and a picture window view is included in the same price under interior

If they are indeed sold at the same price, the difference in quality lies somewhere else. The interior rooms could be in the center of the ship, quiet and not prone to excessive movement in rough seas. The bull's eye outside cabins might be in a noisy location at the front where the ship's movement is very noticeable. A picture window cabin at a low price usually has its view blocked by life boats.

The OP is talking Carnival, and they do indeed have cabins with picture windows that are sold as insides. They are forward facing cabins, and have views obstructed by a deck in front of them with railings too high for much of a view. They are category 4J. I spent two weeks in one on Splendor, cabin 7203. There was more movement there, it felt like we were hitting potholes. Carnival also has cabins forward with portholes. They used to categorize them as inside, now they just call them PT.

To the OP, most of the answers here are from people who do not know Carnival. Best to pursue this on the Carnival board. And, you need a new TA, one who knows Carnival. Have the deck plans in front of you when you discuss cabins with them. A good place for a deck plan is http://www.cruisedeckplans.com. When you mouse over the cabins, it will tell you what category they are. EM

Look at the full description of the room and the words in lighter print between the brackets.

The interior upper/lower (porthole) - is a bunk bed room with a porthole. Those are not rooms where the beds can be put together for a single bed - they are single beds one above each other. The top bed folds down from the wall.

Portholes/Picture Window usually have something like [Add $2.00 pp/day] next to them - that means $2.00 extra per person per day. (I've seen as much as $9.00 pp/pd)

So while the base price doesn't change - depending on which option you choose - it could add up to a significant price increase.
