transam84 Posted November 30, 2014 #1 Share Posted November 30, 2014 (edited) Although I created a thread for pictures/review of the 3 and 2 day sampler cruises, I felt the All Access Tour deserved a home of it's own. So, for those that did not read my 3/2 day sampler review here is a little background: In my opinion Quantum is an amazing and very beautiful ship. I was a bit scared after reading some very negative reviews, but I take things like reviews with a grain of salt. So, despite some not so pleasant reviews, I remained extremely excited and optimistic. And I must say Quantum did not disappoint. Pictures do not do her justice. The minute she came into sight, with Felicia Bear standing proud next to the Sea Plex I knew that any fears were unfounded. She stood majestic and grand next to the new Cape Liberty. Although there are some technological kinks to work out, our cruise went very smoothly and we loved the ship so much we booked her sister Anthem for 2016. All Access Tour: This was my favorite part of the entire trip. Getting to see the inner workings of this amazing ship was a real treat. It was well worth the money we paid for the tour. We saw the kitchens, storage areas, recycling, laundry, control room, bow (crew deck), crew galley and night clubs, and my favorite the bridge. The captain is such a sociable gentlemen. He made time to speak with us, answer our questions and even take pictures. He is approachable and witty. We received champagne and mimosas at the crew bar and got nice commemorative gifts. Seeing how hard the crew works and all they have to deal with and how much pride they take in what they do has given me new appreciation for this ship and its crew. It was such a great tour. I have heard some of my pictures don't show up but I am sorry I don't know any other way to post but from facebook. Hope you can see them. Lets start with the Kitchens! Sausage anyone? How about a little chopped meat?! Carrots! Appetizers for the Concierge and Diamond Lounge. Making cheese plates. transam84 Posted November 30, 2014 Author #3 Share Posted November 30, 2014 The loading and storage of goods is a very difficult and complicated process. There are only specific places goods can be purchased/shipped from and things need to be stored in a very specific way to avoid contamination and spoiling. There were not as many items since this was only the 2 days cruise! I can't imagine this place for a 7 day or longer! Fork lifts are sure needed! Sorted and Labeled Got Watermelon!? transam84 Posted November 30, 2014 Author #4 Share Posted November 30, 2014 Below the passager decks the crew traverse the ship via a long hall that runs from one end to the other and is called I-95! Very cool!

transam84 Posted November 30, 2014 Author #6 Share Posted November 30, 2014 Quantum is a very green ship. They are very concerned about the environment. What is not biodegradable is recycled. transam84 Posted November 30, 2014 Author #7 Share Posted November 30, 2014 (edited) Ever wonder how they clean all those towels and sheets? And press your clothes so perfectly when you send out your laundry? Well here is the answer. Pretty amazing. These machines wash the massive amounts of towels and sheets each day. transam84 Posted November 30, 2014 Author #10 Share Posted November 30, 2014 So if you ever wondered where the crew eat...This is a crew cafe. We were told that with all the delays the crew areas were the last to be finished. There are still some unfinished spaces. Notice the boxes in the background. I really have gained a new appreciation for the crew on this tour.
transam84 Posted November 30, 2014 Author #11 Share Posted November 30, 2014 This was such a great tour. We were taken to the crew night club and served champagne and mimosas. These bartenders only serve the crew. They do not work in any passenger areas. Mimosas!
transam84 Posted November 30, 2014 Author #12 Share Posted November 30, 2014 We also got to go behind the scenes at the Royal Theater. We saw costumes and props, the orchestra pit up close, and some cool instruments. It was a neat perspective looking out from the stage to the seating area! transam84 Posted November 30, 2014 Author #13 Share Posted November 30, 2014 Well my laptop is starting to act up. I don't think it likes when I try to post a lot of pictures. I need to give it a rest. Hope you like the tour. I will post more tomorrow. Stay tuned for the bow and the bridge. Very cool indeed.
Ourusualbeach Posted December 1, 2014 #14 Share Posted December 1, 2014 More Kitchen Pictures: An overview Loved the pictures. This is Pascal. He was one of the Chefs on the Liberty last Christmas and March who went above and beyond in accommodating my wife's dairy allergy. Hoping that he will end up on Anthem instead of going to China with Quantum.

transam84 Posted December 1, 2014 Author #17 Share Posted December 1, 2014 The Bow on Quantum is not accessible to passengers. It is a crew lounge and sun deck area! It is very cool there. The Sun deck! On the bow! At the very front of Quantum!!!

Every one that we talked to was so dedicated and seem to really take pride in the ship. I hope he is on Anthem too, since we are going to be sailing her in 2016! transam84 Posted December 2, 2014 Author #20 Share Posted December 2, 2014 I think the Bridge was the coolest part of the ship. Everyone was so nice. Showing us around and answering questions. The Captain is awesome. He was so personable and friendly. The view out front More up front views The Captain's control area! A veiw of the bow from the bridge There is a glass window on the bottom of the wing of the bridge. It is to help with visibility docking. It is very strong, the Captain demostrated by running up to it and jumping on it! LOL.
