GarnetFan8 Posted December 7, 2014 #1 Share Posted December 7, 2014 I believe the legal drinking age in Cozumel and Grand Cayman is 18. Does this mean that an 18 year old would be able to consume alcoholic beverages while on land in those islands? I know he wouldn't be able to while on the ship, but I didn't know about while on land. Thanks.

Rare Lionesss Posted December 7, 2014 #3 Share Posted December 7, 2014 Our 18year old DD had her first "Legal" drink on Cozumel at the pool bar at Chakanab (sp). She was so upset that they did not even "card" her. It was a Pina Colada, and she took more pictures of it and with it, than drinking it. Later she tells me she likes "beer" more  Cause thats what shes been drinking in college:eek: Yeah I was in college once too:D Sea Ya
Rare LMaxwell Posted December 7, 2014 #4 Share Posted December 7, 2014 In Cozumel beer is cheaper than water. And they don't care at all how old you are as long as you have money.

Retired LEO Posted December 8, 2014 #6 Share Posted December 8, 2014 As long as you can reach up to the bar they'll put a drink in your hand.

lbaker91 Posted December 8, 2014 #9 Share Posted December 8, 2014 Two years ago, my then 17-yo 5'0" daughter and I were offered tequila shots at a shop. The owner thought she was 13... She's now 19 and we'll be there in a month. She's looking forward to it lol.

zekekelso Posted December 8, 2014 #11 Share Posted December 8, 2014 Of all the crazy things I've read on the internet. Sheesh. Don't listen to these people. The bar owners in Mexico are respectible business men and women. They absolutely won't serve anyone tall enough to see over the bar. You have to be tall enough to see over the bar, and have money. And seeing over the bar in many cases is optional.
