Technobob Posted December 9, 2014 #1 Share Posted December 9, 2014 The short of it: Terrible experience - Do NOT use Park n' Fly I have been using Park n' Fly for about 10 years. All has been good until the last two times. It has gotten progressively worse. The good: In the past, they have arrived promptly at our car, loaded our baggage onto the van, delivered us to the ship, and unloaded our luggage. All easy and convenient. That is until recently. They are now employing people who have difficulty with baggage. One older fellow couldn't lift much, and most recently the middle-aged woman driver needed back or shoulder surgery, and couldn't lift much either. She took the lighter bags onto the van, and then waited for us. You know what that means. You're lifting your own heavy bags up into the van. Plus, she didn't stop at our car, but required us to bring the bags from our car to the van. No good. Also, recently we ran into a huge traffic jam at the port, and there was a long delay getting in. Maybe not all their fault, but still, a bad experience. The worst was departing from the ship recently on Dec. 7, 2014. We called for a van. And called. And called. We were told that it was on the way. We waited. And waited. A van finally showed up, but was mostly full from a different ship. We, along with a second couple, couldn't get on. We stood there. We called. We watched competitors' vans come and go, come and go... about 20 of them. The competitor was literally waiting at the pick up area for guests to arrive, PLUS had one or TWO other vans waiting to take that one's place. The competitor? Park and Go. Big difference. Finally, 45 minutes after our first call, a van arrived. That is inexcusable. Service has deteriorated to the point where I will no longer use Park n' Fly. The company is being mismanaged. They lied to us on the phone about waiting time. They are hiring the wrong people. They don't have enough vans in use. They are being mismanaged. They have to go. That doesn't make any sense to me. A driver's responsibility is to drive you from point A to point B not to handle your baggage. Flight attendents are not allowed to handle your baggage for the reason that it was putting a lot of them out of work.
