Rare ken4556 Posted December 14, 2014 #26 Share Posted December 14, 2014 Johnny Rockets never seemed crowded at breakfast, even on port days. Johnny Rockets is free for breakfast. Also, the Wipe-out Cafe has made to order omelettes.
harry0 Posted December 14, 2014 #27 Share Posted December 14, 2014 (edited) Just off the Oasis yesterday. The ship is amazing. Here is a couple of observations and tips. Definately get to shows 20 minutes early. Crew members seem to be lost in the crowd-so just ask them about there home and they get excited-Kinda like if you see someone without a smile give them one of yours. If you travel with kids Let them eat dinner at Adventure Ocean with the rest of the kids. Have breakfast at Johnny Rockets so they can play while waiting for breakfast. I wanted a map(is there such a thing?) of the looking glass towers-the kids loved them-so did I. Dinner times and times for debarking for ports are elevator rush hours plan accordingly Ice show and aqua show are great! We avoid WJ all week Love Park Cafe Specialty restaurants are fair but they offer a change of pace. When walking by the entrance to Silk with your wife make sure you say"Nice Knockers" For those who dont know-the entrance to deck 5 -Silk Dining is a display of several door knockers. I dont understand why but it is interesting as is the decor on the American restaurant. Edited December 14, 2014 by harry0
Rare thrifty99 Posted December 14, 2014 #28 Share Posted December 14, 2014 My tips for avoiding the crowds: - Wipeout Cafe for breakfast was not as crowded for us. And my made to order omelette was awesome. We like Park Cafe too but found it to be more crowded and tables closer together. - avoid the promenade when there is a parade. The parades are fun to watch but VERY crowded. - specialty dinners are usually quieter more relaxed. However, there can be large groups having a dinner and that can be loud. Request when you arrive to not be seated near a large group if possible. - depending on when you cruise, pool deck can be very crowded and all chairs "reserved" with towels by 8am. We found this to be true on Oasis/Allure in March. Last month this was not a problem. The deck chairs above the pool deck are not as crowded. There is also a nice quiet seating area at the back of the ship on deck 5 (running track). - if you are in a suite, the sun deck for suite guests is not crowded. It can be very windy, but there are some "cabana" type chairs for 2 out of the wind. - shows in Studio B (ice arena) and the comedy club feel more crowded due to the smaller venue size than the main theater. Studio B has the ice show and Quest adult game show. - karaoke is fun to watch but usually held in On Air which is pretty small and can get very crowded. Overall, I've felt less crowded on Allure / Oasis than any other ship. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

truffles2 Posted January 7, 2015 #32 Share Posted January 7, 2015 I went to the oasis and allure and I prefer oasis. In my opinion royal is not the place to find young people but I felt that Allure had a more mature cruisers. The club was empty the whole week but casinos were full. Oasis and allure is a different concept from the rest of the ship and also remember that allure is not longer the royal caribbean baby, they now have the quantumI don't believe you will find a bad service with royal but the best of the best will be in the quantum now Sent using the Cruise Critic forums app Not true. Jimmers Posted January 7, 2015 #33 Share Posted January 7, 2015 I've been reading a lot of reviews on cruise critic and the majority of them are so negative. Please tell me it ain't so??? We leave in February and I hope they get a sufficient number of employees to provide quality service and get things organized before our trip. http://www.cruisecritic.com/memberreviews/getreviews.cfm?action=ship&ShipID=368 The link you posted says that 83% loved it, you're not going to find much better than that:)
LuCruise Posted January 7, 2015 #34 Share Posted January 7, 2015 Gotta take the reviews with a grain of salt. Some have expectations and are upset when its different. Or as some commented, they don't research beforehand. The oasis class ships and other RCL ships aren't traditional cruising with needing to book before and not all like this. Personally the ships look amazing and can't wait for our cruise.
bling19572010 Posted January 8, 2015 Author #35 Share Posted January 8, 2015 Thank you everyone for your comments. I feel a lot better about sailing on the Oasis now.:) I am a planner and have never had a bad cruise so I'm sure I'll absolutely love the Oasis b2b cruise in Feb. Thanks you! houstoncruisers2001 Posted January 8, 2015 #36 Share Posted January 8, 2015 I'm always shocked when someone bashes the Oasis. My mouth literally falls open. Been on her twice and it was my two favorite cruises out of 14.
Daphnebroon Posted January 9, 2015 #37 Share Posted January 9, 2015 We did back to back cruises on the Oasis on 6 & 13 December and loved every single minute of it. We had no issues with slow service when dining and staff were friendly and attentive. With regard to crowds, you learn where to go at what time, and where to avoid...but it is no biggie. Relax and enjoy....as one of lovely tour guides told us in Jamaica "Worry is like a rocking chair: it gives you something to do but never gets you anywhere". Enjoy your cruise, it will be brilliant! TravelerThom Posted January 9, 2015 #38 Share Posted January 9, 2015 I'm super excited, but I too get nervous because I do NOT like crowds. So far I've learned -* avoid Windjammer on embarkation day * make reservations for shows before boarding (done!) * avoid peak dining times * treat yourself to specialty restaurants for a more chill dining experience Any other tips? ... The Royal Promenade WILL be packed on occasion (parade, during the frequent merchandise "sales", in bad weather, and especially after muster drill) - there are a number of ways to bypass the Royal Promenade (outside or up/down one level and use the cabin corridors). After muster or shows you don't HAVE to get in the cattle stampede - step off to the side; in five minutes you be able to walk out unimpeded. With a little thought you can avoid most of the crowds and realize there are lots of calm places on the ship. enjoy Thom
pajazz28 Posted January 9, 2015 #39 Share Posted January 9, 2015 Last January I was also concerned with all the bad reviews I had hear from Carnival breeze leading up to our cruise and I wrote a similar question to this here on this message board and received the same response you are getting. They are all correct I had a great time on the Carnival Breeze. I did not have any problems at all, some people our more picky than other and let things bother them. It's a cruise cannot see how a cruise can ever be a bad time. Sailing on the Allure in 17 days can't wait. Enjoy your vacation with your family. cruzkitty Posted January 9, 2015 #40 Share Posted January 9, 2015 I Totally agree with Houstoncruiser-Tom-Oasis was my 2 Favorite Cruises out of 14! In fact, enjoyed Her so much-we are going back this September! I Love the Oasis, she is a Floating Marvel. The food is good, service was great, just Loved it all! JasonV1 Posted January 9, 2015 #41 Share Posted January 9, 2015 My Jan 31 Oasis cruise is almost completely sold out. Considering that isn't anywhere close to being peak season, it speaks to the popularity of the ship. And I track all cabin prices (third party site) and can assure you that it isn't sold out because they dropped all cabin prices at the last minute. jndsilver31 Posted January 9, 2015 #42 Share Posted January 9, 2015 The way I view, is that I am on vacation and others are waiting on me and my wife, what can be bad about that? NOTHING, it's all good. Enjoy and have lots of fun.
