liquorstore Posted December 10, 2014 #1 Share Posted December 10, 2014 We booked an April 11, 2015 cruise on the Carnival Sunshine and took the savings option to have our balcony stateroom assigned later. When should we expect to find out the room number assigned to us?

springs741 Posted December 11, 2014 #3 Share Posted December 11, 2014 We booked an April 11, 2015 cruise on the Carnival Sunshine and took the savings option to have our balcony stateroom assigned later. When should we expect to find out the room number assigned to us? While many people say 30 days it can be at the port. Others have reported getting assigned soon after booking. Many factors come into play including how well the cruise is selling. Booking a guarantee can be a great way to save money and my suggestion is to look at the wait for your cabin assignment as part to the fun. liquorstore Posted December 11, 2014 Author #6 Share Posted December 11, 2014 From those who booked this way, how was the room? Obstructed view rooms? Upgrades offered? Thanks for the replies
1midsun Posted December 11, 2014 #7 Share Posted December 11, 2014 Our first cruise we booked balcony guarantee, and got a GREAT cabin!! we got one of the extended balconies and a little larger room (wasn't a suite) but was nice! Next two cruises, we picked our cabin because we were travelling with others and wanted to make sure we were together. This time, we booked, and then saw that the guarantee was WAY less, so took the plunge and changed our booking. Still 58 days until we cruise so waiting for our assignment. Either way we will be on a cruise ship!!! Can't wait!!!!
Ms Jo UK Posted December 12, 2014 #8 Share Posted December 12, 2014 When we finally got our cabin assignment five days before sailing we had a nice cabin on deck 8 5 cabins down from the elevator bank this was ideal for us as I have walking difficulties. serene56 Posted December 12, 2014 #9 Share Posted December 12, 2014 From those who booked this way, how was the room? Obstructed view rooms? Upgrades offered? Thanks for the replies on this ship there is no obstructed balconies. 99 % of the time you get what you paid for- -a balcony somewhere on the ship. Some get upgraded to the suites. rare but it does happen. if you do not care where the cabin is located you book a guarantee. you will be assigned anywhere from the day of sailing til 30 days out. Keep an eye on prices because if the prices drop to what you paid you could pick your cabin. Just know you have a chance of being put into a cabin that is a noisy area. what is the savings booking a guarantee vs pickimg your own
