laedw Posted December 11, 2014 #1 Share Posted December 11, 2014 We will arrive early a.m. in Ft Lauderdale and are staying at the Hyatt Place hotel. We would like to go to Las Olas. How far is that from where we are staying? Is it within walking distance or do you suggest we take a taxi?
nhraformula00 Posted December 11, 2014 #2 Share Posted December 11, 2014 (edited) You can take the SUNTROLLY for $1 each to Las Olas. It stops just next door from your hotel in front of the Publics store in the plaza about every 1/2 hour. It is too far to walk. http://www.suntrolley.com/routes-schedules-fares/ Edited December 11, 2014 by nhraformula00
eandj Posted December 11, 2014 #3 Share Posted December 11, 2014 If going for dinner when trolley isn't running, a cab is good. It's about 2- 2 1/2 miles.
royalcruz Posted December 11, 2014 #4 Share Posted December 11, 2014 (edited) The Suntrolley that runs on 17th St. does not go to Las Olas Blvd downtown. It passes the beach end of Las Olas Blvd. You can get off there and wait for (and pay for) another Suntrolley to go up Las Olas Blvd. It would be so much easier to just take a taxi for about $10 each way...tell them to go via US1 and drop you off at Cheesecake Factory for the lowest fare. Thank you so much! I looked at the Sun Trolley route map and noticed that the Beach Link did not go to Las Olas Blvd. We can take a taxi from the Hyatt Place 17th Street to Las Olas for about $10 each way? Sorry for so many questions!

Sorry for so many questions! A cab is $10 and Uber is $6. You can walk it if you are in decent shape. The tunnel is kind of scary (good scary not bad, dangerous scary) but it is a couple of miles. ptcruzers Posted December 12, 2014 #7 Share Posted December 12, 2014 1851 Southeast 10'th Ave. is the actual address of the Hyatt Place you speak of. Other posters are correct- Sun Trolley will take you to the eastern end of Las Olas Blvd. and no further. Take a taxi- it will be worth it.:D:cool::D
