World Gallery Posted December 13, 2014 #1 Share Posted December 13, 2014 How does it work if you open your wine in your cabin and drink it there. It states their is a corkage fee, even in the cabin but how does that work? Do they hold on to your bottle of wine until you call for it, then charge at your cabin? Confused because the NCL website doesn't give details. I am assuming I bring it in my carry-on but will they take it then? Thanks
Sauer-kraut Posted December 13, 2014 #2 Share Posted December 13, 2014 Norwegian will assess the corkage fee when you board with your bottles. It is charged no matter where you drink it. If you do not finish a bottle with a meal they will store it for you and give you a chit, which can be given to any bar on board to reclaim that bottle. hawkeyetlse Posted December 13, 2014 #3 Share Posted December 13, 2014 Enforcement may be spotty when you board and you may slip through with your wine without paying corkage. In that case you can get away with drinking it in your cabin for free, but if you bring it to a dining room or restaurant, they will be looking for the sticker indicating that corkage has been paid. Rare sparks1093 Posted December 13, 2014 #4 Share Posted December 13, 2014 You should be charged the corkage fee when you board and a sticker will be placed on the bottle. Do not lose the sticker or you might be charged the corkage fee again.
gooch47 Posted December 13, 2014 #5 Share Posted December 13, 2014 It has nothing to do with who opens the bottle.
