Casino question

Slot machines and electronic game tables have no fee. Table games have a 3% fee to buy chips. So $100 in chips will be $103 charge to your S&S. You can also get CASH from the casino cashier for the same 3% fee. And even though it is called a CASH ADVANCE it still goes on your credit card as a regular purchase. So you don't get a double whammy from a higher interest rate and/or cash advance fee from your bank. That fee is waived if you are booked on a casino rate for a premier casino cruise.

Is it better to take cash to the casino than use your sign and sail card? I thought I read somewhere that there is a fee if you use your sign and sail card in the casino.

If you have a rewards type of credit card, you can get rewards back from charging your Sail & Sign account at the slot machine. The transaction just shows as a purchase on your credit card, so there are no cash advance fees involved. As long as you are disciplined and don't spend money you can't afford to lose, that is a good strategy as it also prevents you from having to carry a large amount of cash on the ship.

Would the 3% fee not be significantly higher than the value of any rewards you would get from your credit card company?

You don't get the 3% fee on slot machines only buying chips at tables
