Question for anyone that's been on Voyager since the refurb...

Just wondering, is the Cupcake Cupboard still on board or did they remove it during the recent revitalization? I know it was definitely on board when I had the chance to inspect the ship in 2013. But it wasn't on the deck plans back then and it's not on there now. Plus I can't seem to find any mention of it anywhere...

Hi Fiona,

Can you please tell me about the TVs, do they have DVD capability or even a USB port? or only the HDMI port.

Also, if they have the USB port, can you change the TV setting to take advantage of a plug in device (or possibly the HDMI).

I would like to know if anything actually changed regards the 3D movies. It was advertised as a new 3D cinema being added, but I know that didn't happen & they still show them in the theatre - but not sure if something has changed there or it's all just hype?

 

I recall they also had a separate cinema but has that been removed?

 

Regards windjammer, I heard they reduced it's size? If so did they remove the back food buffet areas?

 

Do they have any new aerial shows in the centrum like on Rhapsody?

 

They mention new bathrooms in all cabins, are they new & do they still have the shower screens or have they gone to those pesky shower curtains?

 

Lastly, I heard the promenade had the sports bar removed & left only the Pig & Whistle as the only bar there creating a lot of congestion, but on their web site they show a view of the promenade with a bar called vintages? What has changed & is it better or worse in any way?

Wow lots of questions. I would live to know if the casino has a craps table... They never used to but hoping that they added one! Also how's the crowds? Reviews keep saying it's very crowded. Is it really that bad?? :confused:

Hi micCanberra, I am in the room now and had a look, I am not real techno savy 😂 the TV,s are samsung flat screens, on a swivel bracket. I took a pic of the back of it but not sure how to get the pic on here, from what I could see ,,,, there is a few USB ports the words HDMI is written on the back and there is the yellow, blue, red plug hole thingies, if all that makes sense, has heaps of channels, cable etc. we were watching the cricket, never lost service at all

I will keep looking to see how to post a pic.. 😂😂😂

The internet prices are::

Hourly plan-- $29-95 for 60 min 😱😱😱

Daily plan-- $59-95 for 24 hours 😱😱😱

Unlimited plan -- $259-95 , unlimited internet access for the entire cruise ( only 1 device can be logged in at a time)

Cruise special plan -- $299-95--- same as above but for 2 devices can be used at the same time.

 

We got the unlimited plan for the $259 and we have friends cruising with us, we all are sharing that. We can be logged in at the same time, lol, so, so far, so good. So, you don't hVe to log off if you don't want to as it's unlimited. You can get internet all over the ship and I must say, it is the fastest internet I have experienced on a ship. Fiona

Sorry, no craps tables in casino (will double check today) but I have spent a bit of time in there 😂😂😂 and have not seen, lots of black jack tables etc..

Promenade sports bar gone, but there is now the Tavern (used to be the champagne bar) quite a bit bigger, great area,plus another one a bit further along (can't remember name) will check, the pig and whistle I don't think is as popular as last year, the others seem to be , I think it's because the guy singing there is nowhere near as good as the guy (forgot his name) last year..

Just a heads up for the ladies 😂😂😂

The power outlets in cabins...... There is the 1 that is US, and the kettle that is in room is plugged into European. If you plug hair dryer into the US one, it is very very week, not very good at all, is fine for charging phones etc..... The European one where the kettle is, is great. Lucky we bought both. So we have double adapters plugged into both,

Wow, the unlimited plan sounds good, but for the price, I would rather be internet/device free. I do appreciate you taking time to answer our questions though.:D

If you are platinum level or higher you get discount from many places for different things, one of the things is the internet. 15% off, so for my $259 package, I got a $39 discount, so if you share with others it's fine, we all take it in turns using it, think many people do that but as mentioned before we can be logged on together so not sure if that is a glitch or not, but we happy with that. Lol.

They no longer provide coffee satchels in rooms, there is no coffee satchels anywhere, not even in windjammers, so bring your own for your room. You can get room service coffee pots (not real flash) and of cause can get from machines around ship but if you like a certain brand, bring your own if you like to have in your room.

We are Elite on X so with reciprocity would be Diamond on RCI. I suppose they have better deals/discounts again for Diamond and above, such as so many free minutes or a 20-25% discount.:D

Not sure if it will allow it but perhaps with the menu button on the TV and see if you can select a USB or HDMI channel setting (rather than the AV or Digital) and then it should work.:D

At least in our post-refurb stateroom, the bathroom is exactly the same as it was pre-refurb. The showers are exactly the same as before - same size, same circular perspex doors.

Oooh that sounds awesome. How would you rate the speed of the Internet? I understand it will be a little slow, but is it so slow that you want to jump overboard with frustration ? LOL how many days is the cruise you're on? I spose the cost would change with the length of the trip?

I think the internet speed is by far the best we have found on any ship. Just my opinion. Last night I loaded some pics and took about 10 sec per pic. Logs on quickly, no complaints from our group what so ever.
