Embasy Suites, Ft. Lauderdale

I understand WIFI costs are additional to room prices but wondering if there is free WIFI in lobby. I dont use it much so just need occasional connection.

Last time we stayed there there was no wifi in the lobby. They did have some computers you could use in the lobby area. We recently stayed at 2 other ES in florida. They both had just recently installed wifi in the hotels and we could use it free of charge. The lady at the desk said that all the ES would be getting free wifi. I don't know if they have it in FLL yet. We did have trouble connecting in the bedroom, but if we went into the living room area we had not trouble.

Duffys resteraunt is 1/2 block away with free wifi. You can sit out front and use it without entering.

We are staying at Embassy Suites in Fort Lauderdale for the fist time next month. Is there a shopping center within walking distance to purchase toiletries so we don't have to transport them from home ?

Yes - the Harbor Shops are right behind the Embassy Suites. They have a Publix (grocery store including toiletries, beach supplies, etc.), Total Wine (wine and booze), a newly opened TJ Maxx, and a number of small stores and restaurants. http://www.theharborshops.com

other than the pulix grocery store there is also a cvs pharmacy about three blocks down.
