Passport Collection

Hi everyone,

I'm very exited for my cruise on liberty of the seas to Belize and Cozumel. My question is do they collect your passport before getting of the boat at port? Do you even need it? Do I take a copy off boat? Can't seem to find the answer.

We have never experienced passport collection at any Caribbean port.

Would you recommend bringing it or leaving it on the boat?

No Caribbean port requires a passport...leave it on the ship, and since you should always have ID on you, take your DL ashore....it's the same size as your ship's key.

I leave my passport in the safe and carry my drivers license and a copy of my passport with me. I have never had my passport collected on a caribbean cruise. I took a med cruise (so, at the embarkation point I was a foreigner, and the cruise ship collected and held my passport for the length of the cruise).
