Rare jimbo5544 Posted January 19, 2015 #51 Share Posted January 19, 2015 What's the matter with having more restaurants onboard? Choice is good.:) Bill Options are def. a good thing. That being said, dynamic dining would def. not be a good thing (which is not what you posted, but tied to the post you referenced....typing that confused me). S.S.Oceanlover Posted January 19, 2015 #52 Share Posted January 19, 2015 I can't see them not having a casino .casinos bring on revenue. That is one reason Disney cruises are so high Sent from my SM-G900T using Forums mobile app I believe you are the 2nd or 3rd person to say that in this thread. Disneys prices are high because people will pay higher prices on Disney. If Disney had casinos I can assure you that prices wouldn't be cheaper. If Carnival took out all the casinos they couldn't charge high prices because few people would pay it. It is in any corporations best interest to extract as much money from your wallet as possible. Carnival has cheap prices because people won't pay higher per diems. Bill

Sent from my iPad using Forums mobile app No problem jimbo.:) I personally don't know if Dynamic dining would be a good hing or not until I try it. I see RCI has postponed the implementation of it on the Oasis and Allure. Maybe that is because it has not been well received on the Quantum. I don't know. I see people on here say how they hate NCL compared to CCL because they have all those pay restaurants. To me that doesn't make sense since you have the same amount of free restaurants that CCL has. I will say that NCL's free food isn't as good as CCL's free food but it is far from inedible. With food being subjective that is just my opinion. YMMV:) Bill

We have customers who swear by NCL. To each their own, I have toured NCL ships and sampled some of the food (including Cagney's) which I was only marginally impressed with. Concept wise, it makes sense. All the entertainment and food on those two floors (Breakaway). When it goes to the extreme (my perception) of QOTS in having no MDR, to me it does not. They certainly are not having issue with filling the cabins (at really high prices I might add), but still my 2 cents. Friday I hope to see much more on the Vista, including dates and sail ports. I have two complaints that I am pretty sure Carnival will not address with the Vista. The first is only two pools. The second is they desperately need another pair of elevators by the aft restaurant. near the beach Posted January 19, 2015 #55 Share Posted January 19, 2015 I would think they make money on the casino and spa. It would not make any difference to me if it had neither. May be that is where they will put the movie theatre. Like everyone else I will wait until deck plans are released.

cruise to live Posted January 19, 2015 #60 Share Posted January 19, 2015 Sorry. My mistake. When I searched for Vista, I was shown the deck plans for a ship with a Vista deck.
Djptcp Posted January 20, 2015 #61 Share Posted January 20, 2015 You couldn't pay DH and me to ever sail on Disney - no casino, let alone all those kids. No thanks. What does family friendly have to do with not having a casino? All the mainstream cruise lines are family friendly with kids' programs and they all have casinos. I don't see any connection with that thought.

I don't see any connection with that thought. My wife and i cruised on DCL before with no kids and loved it. We'd do the same again if it wasn't so darn expensive. It is a big ship and there are plenty of places on the ship that are adult only areas as well as on the private island. But if a casino is important to you then DCL wouldn't work for you. pusywillow Posted January 20, 2015 #64 Share Posted January 20, 2015 Its lack of casinos has nothing to do with being family friendly. Walt Disney hated casinos. His brother Roy followed Walt's wishes of not having any on his properties. Sue

gtalum Posted January 20, 2015 #67 Share Posted January 20, 2015 I would be shocked if both casino and spa weren't a huge profit center for Carnival. Don't take seriously a third party website posting data before the official reveal.
Dori Saltzman Posted January 21, 2015 #68 Share Posted January 21, 2015 Here's what Carnival Cruise Line has to say about the Travel Weekly report. "We haven’t released anything on Vista beyond tonnage and capacity so I think Travel Weekly took the liberty of just saying ‘no’ as a default... We’ll be releasing lots of info on Thursday and that will include info on the spa and, to a lesser extent, the casino."

firegirl1013 Posted January 23, 2015 #70 Share Posted January 23, 2015 You can now book for the TA trip from Europe to NY on Carnival's website. When doing the booking and selecting the floor you want your stateroom to be on, it has a little blurb down below saying the highlights of the ship. It lists the "vista casino" as being on the mezzanine :) It also lists the spa on 2 of the higher decks

HLGW60 Posted January 24, 2015 #75 Share Posted January 24, 2015 There is both a casino and spa. The Vista Casino is on Deck 4 (Mezzanine Deck) and Cloud 9 Spa is on Deck 14 (Spa Deck).
