Will Carnival be getting rid of the casinos and spas?

No casino, be ready to pay Disney prices.

Carnival's product is far from worth that. If they can't fill their ships for $100 on a four night cruise, how can they at $450-$520?

Guests wouldn't justify the price and ultimately, it would drop back down to what the market is willing to pay.

Ok everybody, this rumor came from "travel weekly" it obviously is an error somebody typed in no for the casino I am positive that is wrong information, there is no way Carnival is going to not have a casino on their ships...I think Carnival should investigate this error because travel weekly its truly hurting carnival and its soon to be new ship Vista

How does Carnival make money from the Casino if it is operated by Ocean Players Club? Which is where casino offers come from.

Carnival receives a nice percentage and that is where their money comes from.

My guess it that the information was not available and therefore not posted. I would also be very surprised if Carnival let anyone other that the ship builder or outfitter in on what was to be included on the ship until THEY decide to release the information.

If I had to guess. And seeing as the website claiming this is doing so now, makes me say no. Funny how Carnival has done everything it can to keep details about Vista secert. Now a week before they are goiing to hold a major event in NYC to anouce the details. We have websites that claim to know them.

Wow I find it hard to believe they would have no casino. That site didn't seem to give much info. The casino must make tons of money for Carnival otherwise they would not be able to afford all of those free cruises they give to everyone

I just booked a Free 8 day Southern on the Sunshine courtesy of the Carnival Dream Casino...Cost me $89 for taxes and port costs. I also would not be sailing her if the Vista had no Casino!!!

This website doesn't look like it has complete information. Why would carnival build a brand new ship and not do a casino or a spa? Both of which make extra money for the cruise line from passengers after they are on board. I'm sorry that just doesn't make any sense at all.

Aside from what your opinions are of casinos (good/bad/evil) they are good for the cruise lines because people are in there day and night tossing in money and buying drinks. It doesn't make sense on a business end to not have a huge money maker on board.

Same with the spa. No spa means no spa cabins and no spa passes or anything else that people pay a lot of extra money for. I just don't see that happening.

Ocean Players Club is a subsidiary of Carnival Corporation & plc, operated independently from Carnival Cruise Lines. Ocean Players Club operates their casinos on nearly every recognized brand that falls under the "World's Leading Cruise Lines."

Carnival makes their revenue from Steiner and Starboard through rent and a small percentage of each sale.

It actually costs Carnival money when someone books a spa stateroom. While Carnival provides the wristband to the guest gratis, who do you think is paying for the services that are included in your stateroom? When you book and its final payment date, your money is going to Carnival and not the company providing the services.

Only reason I can think of a ship not having a casino is if they are making a deal like NCL has in Pride of America.

Since we don't know where Vista is going yet, that might be the case and the info might be correct.

I am going to go with the others who say, there aren't been any info actually released, so some 3rd party web site isn't going to have correct info at all.

It looks like our Carnival Vista won't have either a spa or a casino. Is this a new trend toward making the ships more family friendly, like Disney?

Thank you

Although I no longer put anything carnival does on a GOOD DECISION platter, this would seem extreme. I guess we will find out in 3 days.

I hope they don't experiment with Dynamic Dining, or intend on going the MORE RESTAURANTS ON BOARD route.

What's the matter with having more restaurants onboard? Choice is good.:)
