Thoughts on a 10:50 departure time from Penn Station after cruise

We are a family of four that will be sailing on the Norwegian Gem March 27th to April 6th. Does anyone think that a 10:50AM departure time from Penn Station on Monday April 6th to return home is to early? Thank you in advance for your help.

Penn station really isn't that far from the cruise terminal. Under normal circumstances, you should have no problems making that train.

It is about a 10 minute cab ride from the pier. You should be fine. They like everyone off the ship by about 9:30 AM so they can prepare for the next passengers.

The cruise itinerary shows a 10 am arrival time in NY, not the typical 7-8 am arrival. While it's likely to arrive earlier than 10 (our recent cruise on the Gem scheduled for 10 arrived at about 8), if it arrives as scheduled or only slightly earlier than scheduled you will not be able to make the 10:50 train.

Thank you. I just checked and didn't even realize the 10 o'clock arrival. I better book the later train to be safe. We are traveling back to Pittsburgh and the later train gets in very late. Maybe renting a car will make more sense!

A 10:00 ship arrival is too late to catch the 10:50 train for sure. It usually takes about one hour before the ship is cleared and disembarkation starts. The later train would be much wiser.

One way rentals and rentals originating in Manhattan both tend to be expensive, just so you know.

Maybe you can consider storing your luggage and take advantage of an activity in Manhattan until it's time to catch your late train.

You can right at Penn Station. Its fairly inexpensive too.
