Florence/Pisa tours

We are on the Emerald Princess and wish to do a tour of Florence August 5th 2015. The only ones I can find are private and thus too costly. Does anyone know of a company that will add you to an existing group?

It normally does not work that way in Italy. You can either take a cruise line excursion (usually overpriced), take a private tour, hire a taxi (expensive for 2), rent a car, or take the train (but you need to use a taxi to get to an from the Livorno train station which usually costs about 25 Euros (each way).

 

Private excursions/transfers are often the best deal, but it needs to be shared by a small group to get the cost-per-person down to an acceptable level. The Cruise Critic Roll Call board for your specific cruise is the best place to find other folks that are willing to share a private transfer/tour.

Rome in Limo, a very highly recommended, frequently mentioned on this board, really wonderful operation, does business in Florence. They have a tour share section on their website.

 

Otherwise, a tour share, as mentioned by Hank is the commodity recommended way to cut your costs.
