Pesos or Dollars?

I know many of the prices I've seen for Cozumel are in Pesos, ie. the Money Bar menu. Should we exchange our dollars for pesos or just use dollars?

I would not bother to exchange dollars into Pesos - US Dollars are widely accepted. Be aware of the exchange rate when you travel -- currently about 14.5 pesos per dollar. Some places, including the taxi line, just post prices in dollars. Bring lots of one's and fives - cab drivers all over the world never seem to have change when you pull out some $20's :(

We use US money and take small denominations for our purchases.

 

Never had a problem with the US dollar.

Using the US dollar won't be a problem, though if you expect the best price/exchange rate, use Pesos. Though for the amount of money you will be able to spend in a day, you won't be out much by paying in US$.
