Booked my own air but got Princess Transfers-do they get my luggage or do I get it?

I booked our own air but got transfers from Princess. Do I collect my luggage at the airport when we land in Houston for the cruise or does Princess collect it for us and put it on the bus?

You collect your own luggage. Then find the Princess rep in the baggage area.

You have to. The airports hasn't separated out bags for cruises since 9/11.

A Princess rep will meet you in the baggage claim area.


You get your luggage, and then proceed to bus.

In summer 2013 we used Princess air but not the transfer. We arrived at Vancouver airport on sailing day so placed our Princess tags on our bags. They never arrived on the carousel & went directly to the ship.

That was the opposite of the OP's situation but we didn't claim our bags upon arriving in YVR from LAX & they went directly to the ship without paying for a Princess transfer. The Princess rep said that bags with Princess tags were all taken directly to the ship. Edited February 1, 2015 by Astro Flyer
