linsue1231 Posted February 3, 2015 #1 Share Posted February 3, 2015 Has anyone ever been dock at Cozumel from 1pm-10pm? If so, what is the port like at night. We already have our excursion set up, but was wanting to know if places at the port stay open until ship leaves. Thanks
irishayes Posted February 5, 2015 #2 Share Posted February 5, 2015 I am interested in hearing an answer to this, as well. My 25 yo daughter and I are going to Paradise Beach as soon as we get into port, until 5 or 6, but want to know what to do after that, until 10 pm? linsue1231 Posted February 5, 2015 Author #3 Share Posted February 5, 2015 We are doing the Palace Resort, as its from 7am-10pm, and you can have dinner there as well, and a courtesy room to freshen up. Its a bit costly, but worth it. We normally go to Nachi, but being there at night I think would have been a waste of money. I guess many people dont go at night....hoping someone replies to this to give us a better idea of what to expect at night.
mrsfuzzmo Posted February 5, 2015 #4 Share Posted February 5, 2015 We had this schedule and it worked out pretty well. We did our mini-sub tour from 2:00 - 4:00 or so, then walked to town. We wandered around town, stopping at Margaritaville on the way, then shopped and ate and drank our way around the square and down the side streets. We were there in Dec. so it was completely dark by 6:00 pm. The town was lit up brightly with lots of activity going on, so it was a lot of fun. At about 8:00 pm we took a cab back to Puerta Maya, where we stayed at the bar right at the dock until about 9:30 when they "made" us re-board. :) It was a really fun day! zqvol Posted February 5, 2015 #5 Share Posted February 5, 2015 We have been there late, and there is pretty much nothing to do after about 6:00, unless you are at an all day AI hotel that serves dinner.

Were you in town? We found the town to be lively and open well into the evening.

c-leg5 Posted February 9, 2015 #9 Share Posted February 9, 2015 How do you get to town from port? Lots of taxis available but it depends which port you are at. If you dock at Punta Langosta you are right in town already.

mnsawyer Posted March 1, 2015 #11 Share Posted March 1, 2015 We had the same itinerary a few years ago on Carnival - we did eat dinner in the main dining room that night which was very empty at early seating (6:15) - lots of people did the lido deck buffet that night. Agreed that after dinner it was dark but we went back out which we were glad we did. Ithink there was a restaurant right in the port area which was packed - assumed many cruisers had dinner there instead of on the ship. Main entertainment was the bars. Not sure how late shopping at the pier stayed open but assume it was close to departing time. We were still out shopping around 9 and everything was open then. WE didn't go into town so I can't comment on that.
