PunkyH Posted February 6, 2015 #2 Share Posted February 6, 2015 I was shocked to see that this is true. We are platinum, so it doesn't matter to us, but I know others will be disappointed to hear this. Thanks for posting this.
carnival03 Posted February 6, 2015 #3 Share Posted February 6, 2015 I wonder if it is one bottle for everyone in the room, or a bottle for each VIFP member in the room? Anyone know?
bajangoddess82 Posted February 6, 2015 #4 Share Posted February 6, 2015 I wonder if it is one bottle for everyone in the room, or a bottle for each VIFP member in the room? Anyone know? It's one bottle for each VIFP member in the cabin... so if there are 3ppl in the cabin, there will be 3 bottles of water in the cabin...
FloridaGram Posted February 6, 2015 #5 Share Posted February 6, 2015 That stinks! We still have 10 days until we get to be platinum! I liked my Mudslide at breakfast! (Only when it is free!)
goduckies05 Posted February 6, 2015 #6 Share Posted February 6, 2015 Don't kind it. I hated keeping the coupon waiting for a day to use it. I usually used one water, so getting it it free is nice.

TXParrothead Posted February 6, 2015 #9 Share Posted February 6, 2015 Another reason that after this next vise on the Freedom CCL will have to work hard to get my business. I would cancel, save the 200 dollar penalty:rolleyes: Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Forums mobile app
love my grandkids Posted February 6, 2015 #10 Share Posted February 6, 2015 Last week on Conquest, Daughter and son who are both gold got the bottle of water but no drink coupon. Went to guest services where she got it.
GottaLuvCruising Posted February 6, 2015 #11 Share Posted February 6, 2015 This decision is really cheap and lousy on Carnival's part. Message comes through loud and clear. (We're platinum so doesn't affect it, but geez...)
markntara Posted February 6, 2015 #12 Share Posted February 6, 2015 (edited) This is what happens when people complain. Carnival gave a coupon for a free beverage, however, they limited the time frame for when the beverage was available. People complained about the restriction, saying Carnival should allow the coupon to be used anytime at any bar. Carnival has taken the coupon away, one would think there should be nothing to complain about now. Look at any coupon, there are terms / restrictions printed on them. There are aspects of this I don't get. Those that think they are entitled are complaining about a free $8 drink, what is basically a very small percentage of money they spend to vacation. I'll never get it. Edited February 6, 2015 by markntara

Rare Cruisegirl6 Posted February 6, 2015 #14 Share Posted February 6, 2015 I also will book my future cruises on RC and Princess instead of Carnival...I want to be respected, the loyalty program to me is a way of Carnival showing us that they value my business....yes, taking away a drink coupon and replacing it with a silly bottle of water that I can get water anywhere for free is nonsense! I rather have Carnival take away the program if it is too costly for them and just give us all the same color cards. Yes, I will book RC and Princess for future, unless I get casino or premier casino offers...have to admit Carnival does treat its "casino" people well and makes us feel good about it. Birm Posted February 6, 2015 #17 Share Posted February 6, 2015 Thats it! I'm canceling our March 28th cruise and our Nov 29th cruise!!! How dare they take away my free drinks....................JUST KIDDING:D Come on March 28th!
Rena921 Posted February 6, 2015 #18 Share Posted February 6, 2015 (edited) It's a 1 liter bottle of water per person - not the little ones we all keep in our fridges- which they normally sell for about $5.00. With everyone red & above getting them, it actually works out that everyone can use this perk. I loved the drink coupons, they were great, and I enjoyed my free Bloody Mary at brunch but I also don't mind paying for it and will do so. So many people complained that they were limited to getting the free drinks at certain times, etc that Carnival opted for something everyone could use. People that are upset over this change should be upset at the whiners that complained to CCL enough to implement this change. There were polls on FB & John Heald's blog months ago regarding this and believe it or not, the majority wanted the coupons gone and thought they were useless. You can't make everyone happy and if you are outraged enough at this change to jump ship, then don't let the gangway hit ya in the rear on the way out. Edited February 6, 2015 by Rena921
