The Embarcadero stop. It's the last stop in the city. If you don't get off, you'll end up in Oakland.

Don't thank him too quickly. You'll still need to get from the BART Embarcadero station to the hotel and/ or cruise terminal. Plus, BART is primarily a commuter line. Crowds and luggage don't play well together. Take Super Shuttle.

Not true. Chances are the OP is not coming during commute hour. BART serves 2 airports, you can take luggage on board. People take bikes on BART!

We decided to come in a day earlier and stay in a hotel. Then take a taxi. I want my life to be easy, not stressful.

So, for $8.65/person, you have to drag your luggage at SFO to the air train and then transfer to BART (to Embarcadero) and then walk about a mile to the pier (with luggage) or take a taxi from Embarcadero at approx. $5/person versus taking Super Shuttle door-to-door for under $20/person. Penny-wise and pound foolish?

First, the OP asked what BART station to get off at. You implied you couldn't take BART with baggage. That is not true.

 

Second, the question is typically what is the "best" way to do something, with "best" implying lowest cost. BART is the lowest cost way to get to the Pier in SF.

 

That doesn't mean I think it is the most convenient way to do it. I agree with your thoughts of pound foolish. But I was answering the OP 's main line of questions.

I concur with CruiserBruce. Although we park in the East Bay and take Bart to the Embarcadero. From there we walk to the cruise port or take a taxi, depending on the amount of luggage or weather conditions.
