Earthworm Jim Posted February 13, 2015 #1 Share Posted February 13, 2015 I'm sailing on Summit the week they begin the Luminae construction (3/7). In another thread Curt told me they often split larger tables to smaller, or vice versa, based on demand. But looking at the deck plans, the lower level of the dining room (which is traditional, correct?) seems to have all round or oval tables. I doubt tables of those shapes are several tables pushed together. I assume they are one big table that can't be split up into tables for 2. Does this mean if I want a table for 2 I need to change to select dining? (I'm assuming the upper level of the dining room is select, correct?) Happy Cruiser 6143 Posted February 13, 2015 #2 Share Posted February 13, 2015 There are tables for two in traditional dining.
spearmint Posted February 13, 2015 #3 Share Posted February 13, 2015 We never do Select Dining and always ask for a table for two...which they most certainly have. You ask for those when you book; if you used a Travel Agent, you must have him do it. But. You are not guaranteed getting one; if one is available, you will get it. You can check after you board with the assistant Maitre d' who usually sets up in the Rendez-vous Lounge port side, at 2:00 p.m. if I am not mistaken. He can tell you whether your assigned table is for two, or he may be able to change you to one. Bill
Caribbean Chris Posted February 13, 2015 #4 Share Posted February 13, 2015 Yes, we've not had any problems getting one, but do get the request in your record.
deelastcre Posted February 13, 2015 #5 Share Posted February 13, 2015 There's tables for 2, but they are extremely close to your neighbors. You can choose to socialize or not.
ECCruise Posted February 13, 2015 #6 Share Posted February 13, 2015 Yes, we've not had any problems getting one, but do get the request in your record. I agree. You will have a MUCH better chance of securing one if you request it in advance rather than waiting until you are onboard.
Earthworm Jim Posted February 14, 2015 Author #7 Share Posted February 14, 2015 Thank you all. We do have a request in for a table for 2. I think we'll stick with traditional and hope for the best.
jsf Posted February 14, 2015 #8 Share Posted February 14, 2015 They have the tables for two in bad spots, up against the wall or similar near serving areas. J.
