toberman Posted February 13, 2015 #1 Share Posted February 13, 2015 I've been trying to find flights on EZ-Air leaving from a US airport (closest and cheapest). But... since Princess knows I live in Canada - they will only price air from a Cdn airport. So.. I called Princess and with phone directions got to the website specialist (who was great). Took 20 mins - simply because he had never came up against the problem of changing a Cdn to a US resident for airfare. Works great! Just make a booking for a cruise... call the Princess help line and they can change your departure airport to anything you want. Takes some work, but could save many of us near the border lots of money.
Thrak Posted February 13, 2015 #2 Share Posted February 13, 2015 Is EZ-Air really any better than booking your own airfare? I've never used it but will need to fly back to California from Florida after we do our Panama Canal cruise in September. I've been wondering about when and how to book the airfare home. Is there a time frame (six months in advance, six weeks in advance, etc.) that will generally result in lower airfare or is it pretty much a crap shoot? I just did a cruise from Los Angeles. Flew both ways in Premium Economy. Saved about $300 CDN/person using Ez-Air.

Years ago Princess air was a real pain and disappointment. BUT our last several flights to England, Asia and the present one we are planning arriving in Athens, it has been a money saver by far. What we appreciate is no payment at this time and we also change flights once or twice a week. If something cheaper and better flight times no trouble at all changing. When ever we book through Princess and then check the exact flight through the airline the difference is huge. Somewhere between 330 - 333 days before flight dates we search the Princess site and start booking. Knowing full well it may change several times. mmckm Posted February 14, 2015 #5 Share Posted February 14, 2015 I'm canadian and have found e-z air more expensive and less options. we live on the boarder and fly out of buffalo, NY. We always price both ways and have been always able to save doing it by ourselves. We always book as far in advance as possible.

I live about 5 hours from the US border and another 3 hours to Seattle. Flights from Bellingham cost me the same as from Vancouver.
caribill Posted February 14, 2015 #7 Share Posted February 14, 2015 (edited) Is EZ-Air really any better than booking your own airfare? Sometimes yes, sometimes no. It is an option that should be checked. It is usually better for one way travel. Is there a time frame (six months in advance, six weeks in advance, etc.) that will generally result in lower airfare or is it pretty much a crap shoot? As it gets closer to your cruise date available fares may increase as airlines will have sold the "cheap" seats. See comments in red above.
