"secret sands beach"

Does anyone know about this Allure excursion: Secret Sand Beach? Supposed to be a "new" beach on St. Tom. Ship excursion is usually the way we go on cruises.

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

This is Lindqvist Beach at Smith Bay Park on the East End, arguably the most stunning beach on the island. Updates are in progress (new parking lot, welcome center, restrooms, etc) but still quite undeveloped and gorgeous.

A visit to this beach followed by a tour over Skyline Drive is one of the nicer cruise line excursions.

If you look at going on your own taxi is $10 - 12pp each way.

Lindqvist, aka Smith Bay, is gorgeous! If the excursion includes a Skyline Drive, it sound like a wonderful day. Great way to get away from the crowds and relax. Just keep in mind, there are no loungers, food or drink at Lindqvist (unless your excursion provides them).

The excursion details include loungers, not sure if they bring them or what! There were some on the beach that were free when we were there.

Why they feel they need to change the name of the beaches and bays, I'll never know! No locals are going to know "Secret Sands", but I guess they a. don't think Lindqvist/Smith Bay is sexy enough and/or b. want to confuse the heck out of people.:p

They change the names for several reasons. Yes, to give the tour a more appealing name, to repackage an existing tour, and to make it look like they have a unique product so people have to book with them to get it. They don't care that locals won't know what it is. They want cruisers to look to them as the port expert with special deals and tours.

The excursion brings the chairs for now, but the government did have a few chairs that they sometimes rented to guests. Kind of unpredictable right now.
