CJ0226 Posted February 19, 2015 #7 Share Posted February 19, 2015 In St. Maarten, I would HIGHLY recommend Bernard's Tour's (http://www.bernardstours.com/tours.html) and request "The Mailman" as your tour guide, he was great and we had an excellent time! In St. Kitt's we went to the Carambola Beach Club by way of taxi where we had reserved an umbrella and chairs ahead of time. This was a nice beach, with nice facilities, however, the prices were kinda high. We ended up walking up the beach and stumbled upon Ship Wreck beach bar, very affordable prices and we ended up having a blast there, in fact cannot wait to go back. The Ship Wreck seemed to be a local hangout whereas Carambola seemed to be a tourist trap, just my opinion.
papaflamingo Posted February 19, 2015 #8 Share Posted February 19, 2015 If you don't want to do a tour, you can rent a car in St. Maarten. You pick it up and drop it right at the port. The island is easy to navigate and drive around. We always stop at Sunset Beach Bar on Maho Beach where the airport is and watch the planes for awhile. Then around the island to Marigot which is a beautiful city. Then we usually end up at Orient Beach. But there are many places to go.
SeaBaby Posted February 19, 2015 #9 Share Posted February 19, 2015 St. Kitts - we have done the train excursion twice, old fashioned train and very enjoyable. We have done zip lining - fantastic, and we're doing it again in April. St. Maarten - the island tour is nice; if you like the beach, then the Beach Rendezvous excursion includes a nice lunch and drink plus your beach chairs. You also see a good part of the island getting there.

Rare LMaxwell Posted February 20, 2015 #12 Share Posted February 20, 2015 In St Kitts we took a ship excursion that went to Fort Brimstone and Romney Manor. Both were beautiful. Fort Brimstone is magnificent.
Set to go Posted February 20, 2015 #13 Share Posted February 20, 2015 I would second Bernard's Tour in St. Maarten. Had a great time and the complimentary rum punch was good too!!!!:D
mrpayroll Posted February 20, 2015 #14 Share Posted February 20, 2015 For St Kitts, check out " Thenford Grey " Tour and beach at a very reasonable price. Great reviews on trip advisor.
Life is Good Cruising Posted February 21, 2015 #15 Share Posted February 21, 2015 St. Kitts we previous booked through the cruise line (Royal) the Scenic Railway tour and the Caribbean Plantation and enjoyed both excursions, no complaints. On our own we did Thenford Gray, he was very good, highly recommend him. We now enjoyed just going to Carambola for a beach day. St. Maarten we previous booked through the cruise line (Royal) the Ultimate Island Tour Explorer Cruise and Island tour, enjoyed this tour very much as it included a boat ride from Marigot down Simpson Bay. On our own we enjoying taking Bernard's tours.
