YoHoHo Posted February 22, 2015 #2 Share Posted February 22, 2015 In addition to included news briefs they had paid-for service for ~1800 publications in various languages can be had for a daily fee. So if a particular newspaper is important it can be supplied
orchestrapal Posted February 22, 2015 #3 Share Posted February 22, 2015 Does anyone have a list of which daily printed newspapers are available for guests staying in the suites ? The list was quite long. We have gotten the NYT,FT,WSJ and several British papers. Your butler will provide you with the entire list.
IFlyHarder Posted March 1, 2015 #4 Share Posted March 1, 2015 We ended up spending something like $6 for a daily NY Times. A word of warning - the font was incredibly small and I found it difficult to read.
newlondon Posted March 1, 2015 #5 Share Posted March 1, 2015 I thought in a suite it was complimentary:confused:
IFlyHarder Posted March 1, 2015 #6 Share Posted March 1, 2015 I thought in a suite it was complimentary:confused: That wasn't our experience. You can read a free copy in the lounge but we were given an order form to complete asking which, if any, we would like to purchase. We were in a PH Suite. Mura Posted March 1, 2015 #7 Share Posted March 1, 2015 At least on Marina/Riviera you have to be in an OC and above to get the free paper. I'm not sure if a PH qualifies on the "R" ships, however. Mura

I have poor eyesight and can barely read the headlines :)
StanandJim Posted March 1, 2015 #9 Share Posted March 1, 2015 Yes, the font is really small. I have poor eyesight and can barely read the headlines :) If you run into this issue again, SAY SOMETHING TO YOUR BUTLER. Traditional magnifying glasses are available upon request, in fact they are standard equipment in the big Suites, and the better more experienced Butlers maintain a stock of those generic magnifying spectacles, "just in case". Although even better would be to print a version with at least 4 font!
StanandJim Posted March 2, 2015 #11 Share Posted March 2, 2015 Although even better would be to print a version with at least 4 font! Ah, but the Green Police would disagree with you there..... And with all of the Suites having Ipads now, it's only a matter of time before the physical printing of any newspaper at all becomes a thing of the past. Rare ronrick1943 Posted March 2, 2015 #12 Share Posted March 2, 2015 We've been in both the Owners Suite and the Oceania Suite and always offered a newspaper for each of us. We like the Post and the LA Times. But the list was very long to pick from--never a extra cost. Rick
Baandb Posted March 3, 2015 Author #13 Share Posted March 3, 2015 Thanks everyone. As a kiwi (New Zealander) it is important to get regular updates on Rugby & Cricket - which don't seem to appear in all US papers!
SedonaJoel Posted March 5, 2015 #14 Share Posted March 5, 2015 We have sailed in Owners suites and Oceania suite and are always offered 3 complimentary newspaper subscription per cruise. Almost every newspaper in the world is offered. The butlers have a standard list of about a dozen newspapers but on our last cruse (a couple of weeks ago) we received the NY Times, LA Times every day except Sunday editions. It becomes a tremendouse burden to try to keep up the newspapers unless you have lots of sea days on your cruise. I found the font size just fine. What you get is the actual newspaper including the ads reduced to fit on large sheets of paper. I guess that if your newspaper of choice is printed on huge sheets of paper - when reduced to fit on the standard size that Oceania's printer can handle the font may be small. The NY Times, LA Tines and USA Today are quite readable.
Hambagahle Posted March 6, 2015 #15 Share Posted March 6, 2015 This is my experience too - no charge for the papers and certainly legible. The list of papers included pretty decent ones like the NYT, le Monde etc. I prefer my iPad though...

Rare Acrusa Posted March 9, 2015 #18 Share Posted March 9, 2015 No charge in upper suites! True, but the majority of staterooms are not upper suites.
