I remember when no charge's were made for anything on board food & drink wise. Sorry just an old fa--t.

 

Yes and you paid a lot more in basic price for your cruise. My first cruise in 1997 with Cunard on QE2 we paid over £100pppd for the cheapest inside cabin on the ship. Take into account inflation since then with the increase in food and oil prices it makes current prices for cruising very affordable even if you pay for speciality coffees or restaurants but nobody forces you and you can still go on a cruise and have free food and drinks(except bar drinks) like you did then.

Oh yes, I remember our first cruise on Oriana in 1998 we paid the equivalent of £125 per person per day for an outside cabin. Yes it was more traditional and coffee and a biscuit was served around 11am in places like Crows nest free of charge. But as you say majortom we are getting good deals these days despite these 'cuts'.
