casperbks Posted February 23, 2015 #1 Share Posted February 23, 2015 I love lobster is the steak resturant on the first nite the place to get it?? how much is it? and how big of a lobster is it?? or should I just wait for it in the MDR???:)
springs741 Posted February 23, 2015 #2 Share Posted February 23, 2015 The meal in the steakhouse is a $35 upcharge. There is no comparison between the steakhouse lobster and the elegant night lobster in the MDR. Why not do both and see for yourself. I promise the steakhouse is worth the money. cb at sea Posted February 23, 2015 #3 Share Posted February 23, 2015 (edited) If they serve "lobster" in the DR, it's a lobster tail...rock lobster..not Maine lobster. Probably 4 oz. Edited February 23, 2015 by cb at sea
javamom Posted February 23, 2015 #4 Share Posted February 23, 2015 You can get the lobster on any night in the Steakhouse.

SadieN Posted February 23, 2015 #6 Share Posted February 23, 2015 In the MDR there are steakhouse entrees for a $20 up charge. Whole or tail are available depending on the night.
KarenMF Posted February 23, 2015 #7 Share Posted February 23, 2015 If they serve "lobster" in the DR, it's a lobster tail...rock lobster..not Maine lobster. Probably 4 oz. They used to do the warm water lobster - but all the lobster I have had recently in the MDR has been Maine lobster - and pretty darn good too. I'm a New Englander and I know lobster! t1adams Posted February 23, 2015 #8 Share Posted February 23, 2015 Yep, it's Main Lobster in the MDR now. Pretty good too considering all they have to cook for. I actually liked the lobster in the MDR more than the steakhouse lobster. I get the large filet mignon when dining in the steakhouse. They, unlike the MDR, use REAL FILET. So to sum up, real filet in the steakhouse, and real and better lobster in the MDR.

ray98 Posted February 23, 2015 #10 Share Posted February 23, 2015 It certainly was not Rock Lobster in the MDR as of last week. Very good.
cmecruise1962 Posted February 23, 2015 #11 Share Posted February 23, 2015 I would definitely recommend going to the SH for lobster! I ordered the lobster off the SH menu in the main dining room on the Conquest and was disappointed (your experience may vary)! I am still going to order the steak and lobster with my mom on the Ecstasy, since there is no SH, but from now on, if there is a Steak House, I am going there! SMSACE6 Posted February 23, 2015 #12 Share Posted February 23, 2015 They used to do the warm water lobster - but all the lobster I have had recently in the MDR has been Maine lobster - and pretty darn good too. I'm a New Englander and I know lobster! Ah..that explains why I finally gave a thumbs up for the lobster on my last cruise. Other times it was tough and sinewy. This time it was tender and not overcooked. Cant wait till I can have some more:)
bigdog1958 Posted February 23, 2015 #13 Share Posted February 23, 2015 They used to do the warm water lobster - but all the lobster I have had recently in the MDR has been Maine lobster - and pretty darn good too. I'm a New Englander and I know lobster! Glad they replaced the rock lobster small 3 to 4oz tail with real lobster tail now. My two cruises last year the shrimp was as big as the so called lobster tail and much better. Love nice big Maine lobster tail, glad its now in the MDR again after years of the rock lobster tail. sandij Posted February 23, 2015 #14 Share Posted February 23, 2015 Lobster was on menu in MDR on first elegant night, was very good. It also appeared on the MDR menu as a pay item on several nights.
crusinpsychRN Posted February 23, 2015 #15 Share Posted February 23, 2015 (edited) The lobster one lady in MDR from steakhouse was a GIGANTIC whole Maine lobster. How can you tell it is a Maine lobster tail in the MDR? Edited February 23, 2015 by crusinpsychRN
