b/c of the current promo, thinking of booking the getaway for feb 2016 just to lock in the price. If I cancel this booking, do i get a full refund of the deposit (assuming cruise is not paid in full). when is the deadline for a full refund (ie: how many days before the cruise)?

You can cancel up to final payment date. That said , make that the deposit is refundable. Cruise lines some time have specials where deposit is non refundable.
Most final payment dates are between 90 to 75 days before the cruise.

Here's a link to NCL's cancellation fee schedule. Use the bottom table, which is for bookings made after Jan. 1, 2015. Note that the cancellation provisions can vary by type of accommodation, length of cruise, whether the cruise is a "holiday" cruise or a Hawaiian cruise. In addition if you book through a travel agency they may have their own cancellation fee in addition to NCL's.
thank you!
Where are you located?

What was written above is for reservations made in the USA.

Apparently those in other countries find the NCL has very different cancellation policies - as in penalties much earlier, maybe even from the start.

As usual, what matters is: READ all of the terms of your contract to be sure.
Likewise, the final payment period really does vary, so make sure you are looking at what applies for your specific cruise date and cabin category.
