CB Delayed Embarkation - What's the real skinny ?

We were on a long cruise several years ago and the word got around the ship that noro had hit but it ended up being a stomach issue - two buses of passengers on a tour picked something up during their lunch stop.

The symptoms are similar to sea sickness so the so called reported cases on a cruise with rough seas ended up not to be noro. And there are many people who under no circumstances will report it to the medical center. Probably the same people that don't wash their hands and I've seen many of them.

So are you saying that Princess often misdiagnosis's Noro?

And its really stomach issues?

AM I?

Do we really know where the word comes from? Look at how many people on CC want to be the first to post that noro is on a ship. Did they hear it from another passenger, crew, or overheard it in the hallway?

People re sick and throwing up on a cruise ship, so pthers think it has to be noro.

Don't know if this has to do with anything, but our 3/14 Caribbean Princess cruise is now showing as sold out in all categories. Earlier today, there were several room in several categories available and GTYs, too. Would they have closed down new bookings due to the outbreak? I know that sounds silly but it is kinda weird to be so different than earlier today. (And, the Regal that sails the day after us is still showing openings.)

Has nothing to do with Noro.

Spring break is popular.

Princess cruises almost always sell out.

Nope, not sold out. Something weird was going on yesterday because today available cabins are back and in many different categories.

When we had to wait at the convention center before a cruise, they finally started letting people board around 2:30. We dropped off our big pieces of luggage, checked in at the convention center, then walked to the Harbor Shops for lunch and to buy wine. We only waited about an hour after getting back to the convention center. We were in the first group after the Elites and suite passengers.

We just got off CB this morning and yes there was a code red. We boarded Sat and the first announcement about the virus was Monday morning. Rumor was decks 11 and 12 were hit hard with the virus. When we left this morning they were starting a deep clean.

You are correct. I remember going to the mens room and while washing my hands seeing a gentleman leave the stall and head directly out of the bathroom.

Come on now. You are delayed boarding for noro and you don't wash your hands.

I washed my hands every time I passed a washroom when we were out of our cabin, and wiped down everything in our cabin as soon as we got on.

Funny thing is people could have it and not show symptoms and casino is a good way to spread it with the slots and the chips at the tables.

Bill

A guy didn't wash and was walking out and I said your not going to wash your hands, I got a stare and he continued on his way without washing. He was heading to the dinning room for dinner. I felt like standing there and announcing very loud and pointing to him saying this man didn't wash his hands in the bathroom watch what you touch on your table. Some people are disgusting and don't care about others.

Exactly.

And, then he shakes hands with the waiter, who goes on to handle everything you are going to be eating off of.

On the Regal the hand sanitizing machine is on the outside but the restrooms are further into the dining room. So people who don't wash their hands after the restroom can go directly into the dining room. I hated that! Why didn't they put the sanitizing machine on the other side of the restroom and insist people use it?

So we will be sailing on the 7th and hope things calm down this week and all will go well. Went through our area and work about 2 weeks ago. Funny we work in a large building lots of people and they said there was about 200 people sick. Now there isn't even 3000 people in our building so ratio to the ship and people ill is interesting to look at. But lots of lysol, clorax wipes, loads of hand washing we hope for a fantastic cruise.

They should retire the Crown. And I loved the ship. Sailed it twice. Had Norvo on it...only time I have ever had it. Half of the ship and crew had it. And it keeps happening. Over and over, year after year..........there is something way wrong there.......

Norvo is being spread by the air conditioners.............in the air..it is in the walls........something is wrong on that ship.

And I love Princess. We are on the Regal in March. But.......never, never again on the Crown.

And my husband says we have more sea days than most sailors. We have sailed a lot. On every line but RCI. for some reason....never them. Celebrity..yes. but not them. So we have a lot of cruises under out belts.........and the CROWN..only norvo. And I travel with Clorox wipes. I take bottles of hand sanitizer and put them in the cabin and bathroom. I try to only use my own RR. I wash my hand like a fanatic. AND I still Got it on the Crown. And the two days I was locked down..other than anyone coming near me was in a hazemat suit...and the food was Jello and cold chicken...........the meds that they gave me made me sleep a lot and I don't remember too much. I remember one Divi Divi tree on one small island of sand outside of our balcony.....and I stared at it for two day when I was up. I still like Divi Divi trees. And Aruba.
