Ncl jade, Dubrovnik (Croatia) question

IIRC last summer the taxi between the port and old town gate was 10 euros per taxi regardless of passenger count (all taxis we saw were sedans, so 4 pax max). Taxis were readily available on both ends, the drive isn't that long (I'd say less than 10 minutes) and some of our group walked back to the port without any difficulty, it's downhill that way. ;)

EDIT: Also about docking/tendering, NCL's official list of tender ports is on their website, nobody here can tell if they will dock or tender in a port like Dubrovnik where NCL states that it varies by cruise: http://www.ncl.com/about/accessible-cruising#taps

Also on our cruise we docked in Split that should always be a tender port according to the list.

You will probably dock in the outskirts, they supply transfers to the old town. Each cruise line charges a differrent amount.

you will be very lucky if you tender in.

Since Croatia has joined the EU they have strangly insisted that you use their currency.

So if you want to use taxi's (cannot see a problem) or buy anything check if they will take Euro's or Dollars in cash. Or pay by card.

Also take your passport as been known to spot check at the dock gates and send people back to the ship if they had not . It can be a long walk.

have a great cruise

We were there in the Fall a great place to visit.

However there must have been 4 ships in port, which the place just can not handle!

I found many of the ports along the Medit. are small and when too many ships are in the port it makes for a very different experience,

Getting back to port by taxi can be an issue. In the late afternoon there was traffic, which limited the number of taxis available. While waiting in line for a taxi, a driver charged the group in front of us more than the standard rate because of it.
