Smuggling alcohol onto a cruise ship is really "bush league." That said, there is also the issue that powdered alcohol cannot impart the finer subtleties of premium spirits. At best, it is a bad imitation of the stuff on the bottom row of your supermarket's booze aisle.

Someone please explain this stuff to me! Does it have a taste? Like can you buy vodka or scotch or some "flavor"...what exactly IS it? What do you do with it?

The company will supposedly sell it in Rum, Vodka and 3 mix drink versions. You just add water to the powder and voila liquor. I have never tasted it and didn't think it was sold in USA yet, so I don't know how others tasted it. The creator says he got the idea because he's a hiker/backpacker and he wanted a easier way to haul liquor up a mountain.

Yes smuggling is forbidden, but it is very wide spread. Just do a cruise critic search for Rum Runners
