elmoalex01 Posted March 27, 2015 #1 Share Posted March 27, 2015 Does anyone know if I can get off the ship, walk to the train and buy a ticket with a credit card? Or do I need cash?
Rare VMax1700 Posted March 28, 2015 #2 Share Posted March 28, 2015 according to the Irish Rail website, there are credit card facilities. http://www.irishrail.ie/travel-information/cobh There is also a bank just across the road from where you disembark, with an ATM. NorthernLite Posted April 5, 2015 #3 Share Posted April 5, 2015 I use a wheelchair and we had no problems walking/rolling to the station in a very short time. There is at least one gift shop in the station that I remember selling Irish products. The light rail was fast, wheelchair accessible although a conductor will want to lay a flat pan out for a 2" gap, and inexpensive. I seem to remember a small museum at the station too. kerryincork Posted May 24, 2015 #4 Share Posted May 24, 2015 No problem getting train in Cobh about once an hour. There are several local shops that sell irish goods in Cobh itself. Just to let you know there is about a 15 min walk to Cork city from train station. When buying ticket ask for a return.
roysmith99 Posted May 27, 2015 #5 Share Posted May 27, 2015 We have done this twice. Cork is a very nice city to visit and the train trip is easy. However, both times we were in Cork was on a wet Public Holiday, with many shops closed or opening later in the day. Still excellent visits but look forward to returning sometime to see the rest of this city.
