Regal Princess Wine List

Those are only the wines you can pre-order.

The wine list on board is MUCH more extensive but, unfortunately, I don't have a copy of it.

As a hint, if you like Tuscans, they're not on the MDR wine list but your waiter can get you a bottle from Sabatinis.

Sorry, I don't remember.

We drank a lot of Malbec (there are 2 . I don't remember the names but the $34 bottle was WAY better than the $29 - a REAL bargain!) and then became obsessed with the Tuscans after we did the Tuscan wine tasting. (We really loved the Ornellaia, the Luce Della Vite and the Tignanello but found a reasonably priced (I think around $50 bottle) Tuscan made by Luce that our Headwaiter got for us from Sabatinis.) (We would tell him the day before so he didn't have to run there during dinner service)

I think the Royal and Regal, being larger, have a more extensive one but this is a good start.

Great! Thanks.

That is the dining room wine list and other locations such as Vines & Ocean Seafood Terrace Bar have other choices. If using the wine packages it's only useable in the dining rooms (including specialty restaurants but not at bars) or buffet.

Can anyone who has cruised on the Regal recently post Sabatini's wine list? Or can you estimate how many sub-$100 super Tuscans are on the list? Finally, can a bottle from Sabatini's list be ordered in the MDR? I'm considering the Unlimited Beverage option and would like to try some Super Tuscans, although we're leaning toward Crown Grill rather than Sabatinis. Thanks!

I don't think there are any Super Tuscans under $100 but last year there was one Tuscan made by Luce called Lucente (we called it baby Lucy) that Sabatinis had for around $50.

We liked it and at breakfast asked the Head Waiter if he could get a bottle for us for dinner in the MDR and he obliged.

They actually have to go to Sabatinis to get it so it's considerate to give them some lead time.

On the Royal in October 2013 we attended the Super Tuscan Wine Tasting (at $40 nothing we'd do again) and here are the ST's at Sabatini's & I only have prices on the wine served at the tasting. I have never tried to purchase the wines available at Sabatini's at another dining venue.

That was $34 & it was on the ST wine tasting list and was a Toscana IGT rated wine (25% Sangiovese; 75% Merlot).

Not sure but I think the prices have gone up since 2013.

I can let people know this coming February.

We also attended the Super Tuscan tasting and had a lot of fun.

It wouldn't surprise me if the price has increased. ;)

We enjoyed the better food & wine of the ST wine tasting but for the same $40 enjoyed the Winemakers Dinner more. :)

Jim

I just re- read your question.

The Unlimited Beverage package only covers wine by the glass and none of these better wines are sold by the glass.

As far as getting a bottle - I think you could go to Sabatinis and ask them to sell you a bottle of anything you want and please deliver it to the Crown Grill. Not sure about Vines.

Thank you. I am trying to work out whether it is worth my husband getting the all-inclusive drink package and with the package including 40% off bottles up to $100 a bottle it is definitely worth it (because I only drink wine with my dinner).

I figured that - but it gives me an idea of the price range. So long as they have either a shiraz or cab-sav, I will be content. :)

I've had the 12 bottle wine packages on 3 cruises & only had one selection not available. We get the gold package (up to $45) so they might not sell as many bottles of wine in that price range. Maybe the silver packages (up to $29) more often will sell out of wine that those included in the gold packages.

Being Australian I haven't heard of a lot of wines on the list but I just checked the Deakin Estate Chardonay at $29. I presume that is US$29.

At Dan Murphy's Liquor Stores in Australia it sells for US$6.14 at today's exchange rate. That's retail price, I wonder what Princess pay and I wonder about all other wines on the list.

That is why we bring our own wine.
