I have heard mention of this but cant figure what it is? I am not sure if its on Princess or just other cruise lines. Please someone enlighten me

Do you mean a SEAPASS CARD?.....it is the key to your room as well

as the same card you use for any purchases made on the ship.

It isn't just Princess....every cruiseline has them.

Some Princess ships have an area called the Sanctuary - a quiet area off the spa - you have to pay to enter, can get full day or half day (or full cruise) passes. Perhaps that's what you've read about?

On Holland America, a spa pass allows you to access an area with hot tubs, and thermal loungers. It's inside but the loungers are in front of tall windows. It doesn't get you a massage, but you can spend as much time as you like in there. They sell limited numbers so it's less crowded than the Lido pools, but it's inside (a good thing in Alaska, maybe).

On many ships there's an area which has the thermal loungers, along with some water/steam therapy rooms and showers which the pass allows you to enter.

On Disney for example they have 3 rooms, the first is really steamy, the second less steamy and the third is the least steam. Some of the rooms have aromatherapy too. On NCL's bigger ships they have a salt room. It really jsut depends on the cruise line and the ship your on. Usually it's the newer ships with really nice rooms. On average a spa pass runs $199 for the week. Some ships will allow use of the room if you book a spa service or will offer a single day pass.

If you scroll down to thermal room on this page, they show what the room looks like
