Room service delivery times, overall quality

Room service may actually save Princess staff time - which is money. If someone orders dinner from room service, one server brings the food (all of the courses) and leaves, and then one person clears the dishes later. If that same person eats in the MDR, each dish is brought from the kitchen separately. Also, they don't keep giving you new silverware and refilling your water or ice tea in your room. Two people eating dinner in the MDR may take more staff time than two people ordering room service - even in a suite where they are ordering from the same menu.

I agree that room service may not "cost" the cruise line. The instance where it may is when maybe someone orders multiple times in one evening.

But it's a big marketing asset for serving passengers with any disability that don't enjoy dining in public. Also for differiating from land based vacations. Kids and lots of adults love feeling special with the room service.

So is the hamburger different than the one from the outside grill? Dh is sure it will be cold. I'll order him a tuna sandwich so he can't be disappointed - ha!:)

Besides breakfast coffee and croissant, we often like a late night club sandwich and hamburger and fries. Always came within the half hour, and always was correct. My granddaughter does not eat meat, and they had a vegetarian sandwich for her, which she loved, but I dont remember what it is called on the menu. We always tipped two or three dollars.

Yes but no hot food items (eggs/hash browns/bacon/sausage etc). Sometimes you can write them in sometimes not.

We never fill out the card instead just call in our order whatever time we wake up:D. We have always been able to get hot food items with no problem. It never hurts to ask;)

We recently order one hamburger and one veg burger, along with soap, and ice cream. What we got was hot, though not quite right. Two sirloin steaks, soup and the ice cream. The steak was very good and very warm. Since one

of us does not eat meat, the second was not eaten. Before we ate, we recalled

room service, and the said sorry and would make another order. This order could

not be reused, so why steak was eaten. We were in a full suite at the time.
