Dynamic Dining on Oasis

Recommended Posts

So does anyone know if dynamic dining has been scrapped for Oasis or not? I haven't seen anything recently about it. We are going to be on her in January.

I don't think it's been scrapped, but it has been delayed. Royal has not given any details as to when it might be implemented on Oasis.

They have to finish working out all the kinks on Quantum first. We can't say we loved it, but didn't hate it. At the Captains Corner Q&A the head of that department said it's been about 50/50 love/hate. There were equal amounts of people who stood up for love/hate during the Q&A period.

Only postponed. Until when is a big? A they announced that it will be on Harmony I wold expect it will still be on Oasis and Allure.

Will be interesting if Allure makes the changes during dry dock and then they implement on both ships after dry dock. I have wondered (assumptions only) if they postponed on oasis until Allure was ready to implement as maybe they would have preferred a "standard" across that class of ship.

I hope DD is on for our sailing:D I am quite looking forward to it.

Doing Navigator then Oasis during the Holidays. Would love to have one cruise traditional dining and the other one DD.

I would assume the same so at the very latest Oasis/Allure will have DD by the time Harmony starts sailing about a year from now.

I would be very surprised if it wasn't fully implemented by then. We are looking forward to it as well.:)

We were supposed to have been on the first cruise for DD on Oasis. We were a little disappointed when it was postponed, but made due.

However, unless they get the dining room act together nothing is going to work not DD, MTD, or MDR.

The one and only night we did MTD it was a disaster. We traveled with my brother and his family, so 12 total. We picked one night so we could all eat together, after that everybody was on their own.

My brother made a MTD reservation and since it was sort of last minute we had to be at two tables next to each other. Luckily he got the two table numbers when he made the reservation.

So DW and I show up at MTD ten minutes early and the guy has no reservation in his computer (checking two different terminals). I can tell he has the "deer in head light" look even after I give him every name it could possibly be under and even the two table numbers. "Nope no reservation, sorry."

About that time I look up and I can see the nieces already sitting at the table and I see my brother getting escorted to the table.

We just walked on it and went to our table. It was a total cluster %&*^. So if they can't get normal MDR/MTD working, what's it going to take to get DD working?

Royals website says it will be on the Oasis class ship this fall.

I am traveling in feb 2016 and orig when I booked we were in dynamic dining. Several weeks ago we were moved to my time and I called and was placed into 6pm standard dining so I think it will not be happening before feb of 2016

I think they have to get DD under control on the purpose built ships -- QN and AN. QN satisfaction has only gone from 35% to 45% satisfaction. So they probably want to get AN into service and work out any kinks they fine. AN will have DD and the Classic option so they have to get this right also.

We are booked on OA for 2-5-2015 and if they have DD, I hope they have the Classic option.

when I booked our cruise for April next year they have listed

Deck plans up to April 31th and a different set of deck plans for May forward. Looks like we may be right on the cusp of changes. Think we are ok with the regular dinner service, I hope so.

Sorry for your disappointing experience. Perhaps the size of your group and other people making the reservation contributed to the confusion. Our experience with Royal's MTD has been excellent. We make standing 8pm reservations for a table for two, wait times are short, and we are always seated with the same wait staff and usually the same table. Couldn't be easier We also sail Princess, their version of MTD is not run nearly as well.

Where did you find this? We are booked in October. Even though we are linked, my daughter's family was assigned early dining and we were assigned late when dynamic dining was postponed. I don't know whether to try to change it or just wait.

Q: Is Dynamic Dining rolling out to additional ships?

A: As leaders in innovation, Royal Caribbean International is reimagining dining at sea with the launch of Dynamic Dining aboard the Quantum class of ships. This revolutionary program also will be introduced to the Oasis Class, the world’s largest and most innovative class of cruise ships, in late 2015. Dynamic Dining is a strategic initiative for Royal Caribbean and based on the positive response from our guests, it is our intention to implement this program across as many of our ships as possible, as part of our Royal Advantage program — our ongoing commitment to offer the best experience in the industry to our guests. At this time, there are no plans to implement Dynamic Dining on Freedom of the Seas during her upcoming dry dock due to certain limitations including time restrictions. We will continue to communicate any implementation of Dynamic Dining across the rest of the Royal Caribbean fleet as those decisions are made.
