How Early/Manhattan Pier Entry

Hi there!

We will be driving to our Breakaway cruise on May 10 from Detroit. As we're going to be driving through the night to arrive in the am, I was wondering if anyone knows how early they will let you in to the parking at the pier? I'd hate to get there crazy early and then not have anywhere to go for 3 hours...if they don't even let you in until say, 8am, we may adjust our departure time.

You need to allow time for the departing cruisers to start leaving the parking lot so that there are spaces available.

 

We usually arrive at the pier at about 10 or 10:30...which is typically about when the open the check in counters for the cruise. No sense getting there earlier...even if you can park your car you'd have to wait until then to go through security and check in.

We got there around 9:45 on our last cruise, and there were a lot of people there ahead of us (we had to share seats).

If they allow you to park the car you can then go over to the USS Intrepid which is a cool place to visit. No sense sitting around for hours doing nothing.
