tea and coffee facilities in cabins on anthem.

Really silly question......

but does anyone know (before they push my thread out of sight) if there will be tea and coffee facilities on super dooper

anthem of the seas.

 

yes ....... before you all say it, I know you get room service.

but that's not the question.

According to the facebook group, no there won't be (I don't know how official that is though?)

I have not seen an announcement about that, but RCI have a recent history of providing kettles in all cabins on ships that are UK based. I would assume Anthem would have them for the UK summer season.

 

I believe coffee makers are only in suites.

You could always take a travel kettle and collect the teas and coffees from the promenade café.

 

I'd assume since the ship is not going to be based in UK, they won't go to the expense of providing 1000's of kettles.

 

my wife always like to brew up before leaving for breakfast and last thing at night.

All ships that sail out of the UK are only seasonally home-ported in the UK, as Anthem will be for this summer season.

 

For the most recent seasons, RCI has done just that and outfitted Brilliance, Adventure and Indy with kettles in all cabins. I believe they have also been doing this for all ships sailing from Australia.

One of the reasons for doing this was to avoid guest needing to bring their own electrical appliances.

What we have done on other ships is order room service tea and then keep the carafe for the cruise. We would then use our own teabags brought from home or pick them up from the Windjammer. Then you just have to fill up the carafe with hot water somewhere (I can't speak for where on Anthem is best, I would go to the Promenade Cafe on ships that are so-equipped).

Me neither, but on the Anthem group on FB it seemed like they had officially been told no kettles.

 

Of course if there are it will be a nice surprise :)

Surely we need someone onboard checking before you or I sail.

 

Also looking forward to meeting up in October to compare our likes and dislikes on our Second visit to her. Because for that short trip we will be only doing the best bits we liked for the three days.

I'd be surprised if they didn't have them. They had them on the Indy when she was there. On the second to last night of our transatlantic they took all of the tea kettles out of the cabins. When I asked if they were all going to be thrown away they said that they get inspected, any bad ones are tossed, but the majority are put into storage in Florida and return to the ship prior to her return transatlantic. Seems like they could put them on Anthem and then until she goes to Port Canaveral so they can be stored in Florida and then returned to the Indy prior to her returning to the UK in the Spring.

All I know is if I can't make myself a cuppa whenever I want I feel very much out of sorts.... silly I know. Room service is just not the same. I would sooner do without than have some poor soul traipse up all them stairs with a mug of Tetley or PG just for me!

 

I think there will be kettles in the rooms. (fingers crossed!)

well I won't be hard to find ....... I'll be in the casino nearly every night avoiding my teenagers ! lol

 

tea and coffee are a British thing.

my first RCI cruise on voyager never had the facilities.

room service really isn't the same.

 

I'm sure many will disagree with me :)
