One of Seabourn's best features

I have just spent a lazy half hour looking at threads on some lines I would not normally visit, and now feel that one of SB's best features (for us) is the comparative 'ease' of everything. No weird drinks packages to try to understand, no being told to arrive at the ship at 12, or 1, or 3 or whatever, and then wait in a long line. No waiting to see the Maitre'd to be sure of a table and dining time. Even on Silversea, for example, there are restaurants which have to be paid extra for and booked in advance. (Yes, I know about 2, but that is really it on SB).

Maybe it is because we like to have as little hassle as possible, and to do our own thing. There is little reason to get uptight about anything unless there is something really unusually wrong. Anyone agree - or not?:)

I agree as well. We've sailed many times on the "mass market" cruises and over the years the list of things for which there are extra charges has grown to the point that if we add them up, a Seabourn cruise is not all that much more expensive. Add to that not having to sign for each and every thing on SB and it makes for a much more pleasant experience (not to mention the superior food, service and ambiance).

I love the fact that drinks are included. I'm Sure we have all experienced trying to sort out the bill after a group has eaten and there is always someone who says " but I only had one glass of wine". We are going on Windstar (Tahiti) in June and the thing that concerns us most is the drinks package. It seems very expensive, but we don't know how much buying individual drinks wil be - I do like to be able to have a glass of champagne at anytime:D

All Inclusive should mean just that so SB wins over the competition in that respect although Regent is pretty good with excursions included too but there's a lot of debate about how good/bad they actually are. I particularly dislike having to line up like supplicants awaiting admittance to the presence of a maître d who can bestow (or not) specialist restaurant bookings. Those we have to pay a paltry supplement for - $30 or $40 - seem token at best and apart from some easy extra $$$ for the bean counters I don't see the point.
