2006263 Posted April 11, 2015 #1 Share Posted April 11, 2015 Can anyone tell me of cabanas or clam shell shelters on Coco Cay? We hope to be there in March, 2016.
F27TW Posted April 11, 2015 #2 Share Posted April 11, 2015 We got a cabana last month .. they are located inside the Island Oasis area off to the left as you come around the bend from the tenders. Highly recommend them ... comfortably accommodated the 4 of us .. the view looking toward the ship is amazing ... its quiet, the cabana comes set up with a cooler of water, a bottle of sparkling wine and some fresh fruit ... and the area has its own separate bar and lunch buffet ....pretty much the same food as the other buffet ,, but so nice to not have the lines or crowds ... and to take your food back to the cabana to eat in peace We would do the cabana again in a heartbeat ... though the higher status members have first dibs on them ...(which we are not) . so just go put yourself on the waiting list at Guest Services as soon as you get on board. wolfcathorse Posted April 11, 2015 #3 Share Posted April 11, 2015 Cabanas cost $200 and are offered to Suite guests and then Pinnacles, Diamond Plus, and on down. Cabanettes cost $50 and there are more of them. The cabanettes (clam shell) come with a litre bottle of water on ice and are located way down the beach. Clarea Posted April 11, 2015 #5 Share Posted April 11, 2015 I believe the cabanas also come with free rental of two sets of snorkel equipment and two floating mats.

Clarea Posted April 11, 2015 #7 Share Posted April 11, 2015 What good is a floating mat if you are trying to snorkel? The cabana holds up to 6 people, so two can snorkel while two others use the mats. Or you can switch between snorkeling and floating.
Cruzin RN Posted April 12, 2015 #8 Share Posted April 12, 2015 We like the clamshells, because we like that part of the beach better. $50, per clamshell, for 2 people. We received 2 liters of evian, ice bucket, fruit plate and 2 float mats.we were told that the clamshells will be changing to the "bed" type soon..they had one in place last weekend. Shekim Posted April 12, 2015 #9 Share Posted April 12, 2015 the floating mats are available at no extra cost to everyone. When we were there last month 2 in our party got mats. No problems...
Rare bobmacliberty Posted April 12, 2015 #10 Share Posted April 12, 2015 Are clamshells also in limited supply and offered to suites and higher C&A levels first? Alternatively, how much shade is available on the island?
Clarea Posted April 12, 2015 #11 Share Posted April 12, 2015 Are clamshells also in limited supply and offered to suites and higher C&A levels first? Alternatively, how much shade is available on the island? There are many areas with trees that give shade. Also, not sure if they still do this, but they used to rent umbrellas for something like $20 for the day.

Cruzin RN Posted April 14, 2015 #15 Share Posted April 14, 2015 The cabanas are on the left side of this map...near "lighthouse". It is near straw market and various bars, buffet lunch and snorkel beach ( very crowded). It is a bit of a walk to the jet ski dock, kayak area and kids water slide..of course, it is a small island and nothing is too far away..
