Star leaving Sunday

The California Current runs north to south from the Gulf of Alaska to Baja California. A very cold and sometimes rough current. It'll be a lot chiller the first two days sailing and returning as a result. Temps will probably be in the upper 60's or thereabouts. Not to mention wind chill. Sailing north, the ship sails against the current so it can be rougher. That's why extra time is built into the itinerary on the return.

We have sailed North out of San Francisco to Alaska. Had always heard it was known for rough seas. We had no problems and never felt a swell or a bump. We could not have asked for smoother sailing. We also sailed South out of San Francisco, again, no problems.

Just returned from a CA Coastal. Weather in SF in AM was 44 low and 57 high. It was coolish until we got to San Diego and Ensenada where it was in the 70's. However, warmer weather is predicted. It has always been cool going around the Baja in my experience.
