The train ride is great but I believe you must book it through the ship.

 

Brimstone Hill fortress is very interesting, and on the way there/back, is Caribelle Batik and Romney Gardens. Beautiful gardens and the batik shop has some fabulous stuff. You can probably book a private driver to take you to those places for less than the ship will charge. Check the St. Kitts board for info.

On our last cruise we did the catamaran to Nevis. Unlimited drinks and lunch were included. Great excursion!! Prior cruise we did the Scenic Railway. Another great excursion!!

 

Those are also our two favorites for St. Kitts! :D

We took a wonderful tour with Thenford Grey (google him). He gets excellent reviews on TripAdvisor and here on cruise critic.
