Rare sprint180 Posted April 20, 2015 #1 Share Posted April 20, 2015 Can someone tell me the cost of a fountain pop? We are going on the Star next year. We got the package last year and from what I remember we decided it wasn't worth it as we didn't drink enough pop. Thanks! Vicki
hawkeyetlse Posted April 20, 2015 #2 Share Posted April 20, 2015 $2.25 + 18% auto-gratuity = $2.66 The adult soda package costs $6.95 + 18% per day, or $8.20. So you need to drink more than 3 sodas per day to break even.

lgfromdg Posted April 20, 2015 #4 Share Posted April 20, 2015 You're going to get a can for that price, not a glass of fountain pop.
rvsullivan Posted April 20, 2015 #5 Share Posted April 20, 2015 You're going to get a can for that price, not a glass of fountain pop. You can get a can if you take it from your mini fridge. If you go to a bar you will get a fountain soda, same in the restaurants. Same price.

Not if you are leaving out of Houston or New Orleans. Must put in suitcase or carry it yourself.
Nola26 Posted April 20, 2015 #7 Share Posted April 20, 2015 We just bring our own.. Slap a baggage tag and it will be delivered to your room... While this has its advantages it isn't a complete substitution to buying sodas a la carte or by package. This won't provide a soda at dining room meals. It won't get you a drink during a show and it may not be that cold something you want just anytime you feel like having one. Certainly nothing wrong with this choice, but if I have a drink at lunch, dinner, at the show or as an afternoon refreshment I'd just as soon have the plan. I don't enjoy alcohol so if I'm going to order a beverage typically it will be a soft drink or water. For me the soda plan is a good choice. I will also get it for our teen. I want him to have the choice and I don't want to watch the meter on soft drinks. We'll have the opportunity to say no to plenty of things, a soft drink on demand won't be one of them. By the way on the next cruise I'll have the casino drink card as well. However, with that card I'm most likely to order a bottle of Aquafina as that isn't gratis anywhere else on the ship for me. If I really want to be a grown up I'll order cranberry juice with a twist of lime. I know slow me down right? :-)
zqvol Posted April 20, 2015 #8 Share Posted April 20, 2015 We just bring our own.. Slap a baggage tag and it will be delivered to your room... This is not true in all ports. In some ports you have to carry it on.
